Disney requested that every unsold copy of Fantasia to be recalled and destroyed. Why? Because Roy E. Disney, long-time executive for the company, had promised his uncle Walt that he wouldn't license anyone rights to the beloved film, and that the licensing had been done in error to begin with. Sega complied, and all but apx. 5000 copies were scrapped, while all the game's advertising was pulled. In return for acceding to the favor, Sega was granted extra Disney licenses at no further cost and an increased royalty rate.
