If you don't know any Japanese Hey, I don't know any Japanese, well maybe some, but can't read it though. Most of the time, you will have to guess the text because I didn't put in in the walkthrough. If this is your first time playing Pokemon TCG, I suggest you buy a Starter Set Deck Box, or get a rulebook in English, don't just try to read the Japanese if you don't understand, it's useless!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. MENUs Hey, I used a lot of time to do this part of the FAQ, I had to use the Pokemon TCG, the first one in ENGLISH and used it to get through the MENUS, anyway I have compiled some MENUs you can use if you don't understand anything... Walkthrough If you have just gotten the game, select NEW GAME, if you are continuing from a SAVED game scroll down to the section to where you currently are in the game. First, choose do you want to be a boy, or a girl, there is no difference, except the character you walk around with, then choose a NAME, then you are off to explore. You start off with a little introduction of the GR Gang, and then you see yourself at Dr. Mason's LAB. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please note that I will not indicate you if you have won a Duel and gotten a pack, the packs come at random except when Dr. Mason gives one to you. if you have Saved your game and gotten a pack, try to do it again, the pack will be different. The chances of 2 packs being exactly the same are 845:1, meaning nearly impossible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Save often!!! If you don't and your batteries run out, you might lose valuable cards. When you are at the Challenge Cup, save before every round! because you might lose somehow and lost a great chance of getting that Promo Card or coin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you attached an Energy by mistake on a different Pokemon, turn the Power off and turn back on, and choose the last option you see after the Start Menu, you will continue the Duel before you confrimed a command, [Pressing A] or if you made a mistake like using a Super Energy Retrieval when you only have 1 Energy in your discard pile, or made a mistake choosing an Attack, just turn the power off, and back on again, and choose Continue Duel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Card Island Dr. Mason's Lab He will talk to you and you will be asked a question, say Yes. Yes is always the leftmost answer, you would be given a deck, kinda simillar to the Starter Deck, and you can now walk around freely, if you talk to Sam, the person that is sitting on the table near Dr. Mason, you can Duel against him, and there are specific instructions to dueling against him... INITIAL DRAW: Put down DIGLETT and then PIDGEY FIRST TURN: Attach FIGHTING ENERGY to DIGLETT and attack with "DIG 10" SECOND TURN: Attach FIGHTING ENERGY to DIGLETT and attack with "MUD SLAP 30" THIRD TURN: Attack FIGHTING ENERGY to DIGLETT and play DUGTRIO on DIGLETT, and attack with "SLASH 40", and pick up a PRIZE FOURTH TURN: Put NIDORAN(M) on BENCH, and attach GRASS ENERGY on NIDORAN(M), and attack with "SLASH 40" BETWEEN FOURTH AND FIFTH TURN: SELECT NIDORAN(M) and make ACTIVE Pokémon FIFTH TURN: Put MACHOP on BENCH, and attach GRASS ENERGY on NIDORAN(M), and attack with "HORN ATTACK 30" SIXTH TURN: Attach GRASS ENERGY on NIDORAN(M), and play NIDORINO on NIDORAN(M), and attack with "DOUBLE KICK 30X", and pick up FINAL PRIZE That should give you a feeling on Pokemon Trading Card Game, you can come back any time. Go to the room to the left, and battle if you wish, the person in the top, battle him 3 times, and exit the room, then try to exit the lab, Dr. Mason warns you about something, and to help defeat the GR GANG. Then head to the Electric Gym. Lightning Gym The Gym should be rectangular shaped. Your Rival will bump into you, he will ask to Card Pop! with you, you would recieve a card chosen at random, then head up to the next room, the GR Gang Member would talk to you, and then, Duel against the Kid with the SpikeyHair, and then the GYM LEADER. After that, the GR Gang Member will leave. The Gym Leader will give you a "Pikachu Coin", exit and head to the Water Gym. Water Gym It should be on a small isolated island to the south. When you enter, you would notice some starnge background music, anyway head up to next room, talk to the GR Gang Memer and Duel against him, when you defeat him, he would leave, and the Gym Leader would give you a "Starmie Coin", exit and your Rival would give you a "Moltres Pack". Then head up North to the Grass Gym. Grass Gym Instead of going up, go to the room on the left, and talk to the girls that a not at the table, they give FREE PACKS! Then talk to the girl at the table, after the battle, she says something about Mr. Ishihara, he lives in the north-west house, go there and you will find the Gym Leader, she will get something from a desk, and hand you over 60 of something, maybe a Deck, just have a place in your Deck Menu, and the Deck will be made, then she will give you the "Oddish Coin". then head for the Stone Gym, directly below Ishihara's House. Stone Gym Head to the room above the first one, and a confrontation with GR Gang Member will begin, and after that defeat the Stone Gym Leader to recieve a Deck and a "Kabuto Coin". Then head to the Psychic Gym, the building with the two things balancing over each other. Psychic Gym Get through the senario, and Duel the person in glasses, who is the Gym Leader, after you defeat him, you get a deck and an "Alakazam Coin". Then head for the Fire Gym, the building beside the volcano. Fire Gym Head all the way up, you will see a GR Gang Member, defeat him, and he will give you a part of the "GR Coin", and you will eventually get a "Charmander Coin" from the Fire Gym Leader. After that, head towards the Fighting Gym, the building that looks like a Temple. Fighting Gym Head all the way up, you will see another GR Gang Member, defeat him to get another piece of the "GR Coin", exit, and you Rival will challenge you to a Duel, if you win, you will recieve a Promo Card. Head back to the Psychic Gym. Psychic Gym Talk to the GR Gang Member, defeat him, and you recieve another piece of the "GR Coin", head for the Posion Gym, the building directly under the Volcano. Poison Gym Head all the way up, if you have followed anything so far, a White GR Gang Member would appear, if not, check back to see what you missed, defeat the last GR Gang Member, and recieve the last piece of the "GR Coin", when you leave you Rival gives you a Omanyte Pack. Head for the GR Airport, the building with the GR Sign. GR Airport Talk to the GR Gang Member, and he will escort you to the Airship, you will arrive at GR Island, exit the Airport and head to the Pikachu Shaped building, that is the GR Game Corner enter. GR Island GR Game Corner Your Rival will hand over a Evolution Machine Card, if you want to do more in the GR Game Corner, please read the section of this FAQ about the GR Game Corner, after that exit and head to the GR Grass Gym. GR Grass Gym GRX will challenge you to a Duel, when you defeat him, he would reveal himself as you Rival, and continue to the room above this one, defeat the girl, and the Professor will be set free, and you will recieve a Snorlax L50 card, head up to the next room, and defeat the man, and head to the next room, in this room, the lady would be specific about what type of deck you can use, this is new in this game, some people will ask you for a deck where all the Energy Card are just this color, meaning the percentage of the Energy Cards in your deck must be 100% of that, or a number of a specific Pokemon you must have, mostly 4. Anyway she will ask for Grass Energy to be in your deck, just put together a lot of Grass Energy, and Colorless Pokemon, when you defeat her, she will open the door, enter through the door, and the Gym Leader would be there, challenge him to a Duel, and before the initial card draw, he plays something simillar to the Stadium Card, he plays the one that say that any Grass Type Pokemon cannot be Asleep, Confused, Paralyzed, and/or Poisoned, when you defeat him, he gives you a "Golbat Coin", exit the building and head towards the GR Electric Gym. GR Lightning Gym You have to talk to the door to enter, walk pass the first room, and a girl wants you to have 4 Pikachu in your deck, when you defeat her, go to the next room, and the person wants you to have a Electric Energy only deck, after that he frees a person that was ocked up, he gives you a Electabuzz Lv20 card, now head to the next room and challenge the Gym Leader to a Duel, she will play with a rule which I am still not sure what it is, anyway defeat her to recieve the "Magnemite Coin", exit and head to the building that is isolated in the desert. GR Water Gym Once again talk to the door, and head for the first card player, you will have to build a deck with Water Energy, defeat him. The second trainer wants you to have 4 Magikarp, defeat him, and he will free somebody held captive and he will give you a Magikarp Lv10. Walk across the brigde that appears and Duel against the Scuba Diver, he uses some rule, but I haven't notice anything different when Dueling, defeat him, and he will move out of the way, go pass the door and challenge the Gym Leader, she has some rules I can read, when you win, you will recieve a "Psyduck Coin", when you exit, your Rival will challenge you to a Duel, defeat him to get a Promo Card, exit and head to the building beside the Volcano. GR Fire Gym Enter the second room, as always, and Duel the first person you see, then head to the next room, hte person want you to have only Fire Energy, after head towards the next room, and that person needs you to have 4 Eevee [any Level], when you defeat her, the hostage will be set free, thus gaining you a Arcanine Lv34 card, the next room lies the Gym Leader, he will play a rule stating that whenever a Water Pokemon does damage, do not apply weakness. Regardless of that, defeat him, and recieve a "Magamr Coin", exit and head up to the GR Fighting Gym, the building that looks like a colussium. GR Fighting Gym Enter the second room, and you will be greeted the the Gym Leaders, and you will have to find them, please refer to "jalt's Map" in you want the Treasure Chests, the Gym Leader to the left will have a person held captive, to get to him, go through the left door, and go up, up, left, up, up, and when you Duel him, he will ask you not to have any Trainer cards in the deck you are using, after defeating him, the person held captive will give you a Cool Porygon card. Then head back to the beginning and through the right door, go up, right, down, right, up, and you be at a room with another Gym Leader, she will ask for Fighting Energy only. So defeat her and she will give you a chest containing a Dugtrio Lv40 card, head to the beginning and talk to the Gym Leader, he will play with a rule I am not sure of. When you defeat him, you will recieve a "Machamp Coin", now head for the GR Psychic Gym, which looks like a semi-circle. GR Psychic Gym Just head up to the second room as usuall, and then try to walk out, the Gym Leader will stop you, and saying you have to defeat 3 of his students to advance to him, each student have specific instructions in order for you to Duel against them; 1 3 2 4 Student #1: No deck configuration, but plays with rules (Resistance to Psychic is now -10) Student #2: Psychic Energy only Student #3: No Trainer cards Student #4: 6 or more Gastly/Haunter with Ratios [Gastly:Haunter] 2:4 , 3:3, 4:2, 4:3, 4:4 When you have defeated 3, head to the blinking light, that teleports you to the next room, there you will have to free another hostage, the Gym Leader will play with a Rule, which I am not sure off, anyway defeat him to recieve a "Mew Coin", the hostage will give you a Dragonite Lv43 card, now exit, and head for the building that looks like a tent. GR Colorless Gym Walk to the second room, and talk to anybody, when they are finished, they will stand like this: GL 2 1 Person #1: Wants you to have 4 Double Colorless Energy in the deck you are using Person #2: Wants you to have 4 Dratini in the deck you are using Gym Leader: Wants you to have 4 Meowth in the deck you are using [please note, that these are just the Deck Configurations I have to use in the game I was playing with, I cannot confirm these configurations yet] When you defeat the Gym Leader, he will give you a "Snorlax Coin", now head for the Rocket Castle, which is the building that looks like a castle. Rocket Castle Talk to the two ladies, and they will put the two medals in their respective slots, and then your Rival comes out, defeat him to get a Promo card, after that, go through the door and head all the way up, and you will be their to talk to you, when you finish talking, someone will challenge you to a Duel, he will ask for you to have 4 different card, each extremly rare; Moltres Lv40, Zapdos Lv68, Articuno Lv37, and Dragonite Lv41, defeat him, and the next person will challenge you, you are allowed to use any kind of deck you wish, but you will have to play with a rule, once you defeat her, they will bring you to the Pokemon Card King, you will have to defeat him twice, when you do, you will be given a "Togepi Coin", and a GR Mewtwo, Congratulations... You Have Finished the Game............. Or Are You Missing something... Dr. Mason's Lab You will notice a machine behind Dr. Mason, talk to it, and you can give yourself a challenge by choosing one of your best decks, and trying to get a record number of wins, anyway you finished the game, give yourself a pat on the back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. This can only happen once, unless you find a code/ some codes to bring it back to normal. NOTE: ERROR: When you code in 99 of a card when you already have a few of, just code in 0100xxA? [xx for the card number, ? for the section of the card], and then type in the difference of that number [the number that appears to the right of the card] and 99, and convert it into Hexadecimal, and place it in this code: 01yyxxA?, [xx for the card number, yy for the Hexadecimal digit, and ? for the section of the card] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9.
