===========================================================================[1]=

This is the second game I got for my Game Boy Color. I got this in 1998 and I'm
still playing it even when much more advanced games are out, and you can find
this on cellphones (maybe).

Anyway, I'm FAQing and I couldn't think of a game to write for next, so I dug
this up and started writing and here it is.

===========================================================================[2]=

This is a remake of the original 1987 Game Boy Tetris. This version adds color
and some new options, like 40 Lines, Ultra and others. It is a really fun and

-------------------------------------------------------------------------[2.4]-

Here is a list of the blocks available in Tetris:

 _ _ _ _
|_|_|_|_| This is your basic 4-line block. This is the only block that can
get you a Tetris, but it does have a tendency to appear at times
when you don't need them, which can be really annoying. Also know
             as the I block.

 _ _ _
|_|_|_| This is a conveineint block which can be rotated 4 different ways
  |_| to place it a some of the hard spots. Also know as the T block.

 _ _
|_|_| This is a square block that can't be rotated. They can be good for
|_|_| setting up a multi-line combo or a Tetris. Also know as the O
             block.

 _
|_| This is piece can be a really annoying piece. It has a piece which
|_|_ sticks out the side of it, which can cause some troble when
|_|_| finding a place to put it. Also know as the L block.

   _
  |_| This piece is just like the L block, just that the little piece
_|_| which sticks out is on the opposite side. Also know as the J
|_|_| block.

 _
|_|_ This is another annoying piece. The best thing to do is to tower,
|_|_| or stack, the pieces, meaning you place them on eachother. Also
  |_| know as the S block.

   _
_|_| The same as the S block, just the other way around. Also know as the
|_|_| Z block.
|_|

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Various Options -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------[2.5]-

Here is just a basic run down of the options available in Tetris DX.

Main Screen:

1PLAYER - Leads to one player mode.
2PLAYER - Leads to two player mode.
ENTRY - Leads to the entry screen.

1PLAYER:

Here you select the player you wish to use. Press Select to see the data for
each player.

After Selecting Player:

MARATHON - This is the basic Tetris. You try to get a straight line across to
get points. Try to get as many lines as possible for a higher
score. It the blocks reach the top, makeing the next block unable
to come down, the game ends.

ULTRA - This is the same as MARATHON, but you get only 3 minutes.

40LINES - Try to get 40 lines as fast as possible.

VS. COM - Battle versus the computer until one of you loses. However, when one
of you have cleared 2-4 lines, the other player gains 2-4 lines.

After Selecting Mode:

A-TYPE - Type A music.
B-TYPE - Type B music.
C-TYPE - Type C music.
OFF - No music.

After Selecting Music:

Select level and hight (in some modes). In VS. COM, select the difficulty.

After that, just play.

2PLAYER:

Just like VS. COM

ENTRY:

Enter names, clear data and so on. Just follow the instructions on screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- General Strategies -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------[2.6]-

Here are some simple stategies:

- Use the Preview box at ALL times. Really, really helpfull.

- Beginners should try to just get singles and doubles so that they can get
used to the controls, pieces, etc.

- Try to tower your pieces, as it will prepear you for a Tetris or a Triple.

- Go for triples and doubles. They get you more points and chop away at the
  line count really fast.

- Use the T piece. It's really effective at filling in gaps.

- Use the I piece to get Tetrises. NEVER put it vertically, unless it gets you
  points.

- Use both the L and J pieces to get doubles by placing the long end into a
  gap to fill it up.

- Remember that the O piece is a real waste.

Here are some examples for how to use your pieces:

 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

===========================================================================[3]=

Continue in One-Player -

To continue a One-Player game, just pause the game and turn the Gmae Boy off.
When you then turn it back on, you'll get a screen asking if you wish to
continue. Select YES to continue or NO to select any other options.

Move Blocks Up the Screen -

This is a weird one. To move the blocks up the side of the screen, just move
the block to the right or left side of the screen and continue pressing in
that direction. Then, if the block is one the right, press B really fast, and
vice-versa for the left (press A). NOTE: WILL NOT WORK WITH THE I OR O PIECE.

No Next Piece Box -

While playing, press SELECT to disable the Next Piece Box.

Different Screen Saver -

When the first demo appears (don't press any button on the start up screen for
a few seconds) press SELECT to get a Fish Screen Saver.

When the second demo appears, press A to get a Confetti Screen Saver.

On the last demo, press B to get a Chalkboard Screen Saver. This might take a
 while.
