 |  Due to some kind of glitch in the game, if you do certain things in a    |
 |  certain order, you'll no longer be able to progress in the game.         |

 |  What you do is finish a level, save, and move over to another area and   |
 |  end up in a top-down level. After finishing it and continuing to the     |
 |  next area, as you select your items, the game will hang and freeze.      |
 |                                                                           |
 |  To bypass this, you'll need to start a New Game and get a Game Over in   |
 |  some way. Then reload your saved file to be okay.                        |

Welcome to another FAQ of mine. This one covers the GameBoy Color game, Bionic
Commando: Elite Forces. This excellent game, made by Capcom, is unusually
well-made and made and designed similar to the series of MegaMan.

Is this a conspiracy!? (For Capcom made MegaMan.)

Before I go any further, however, I must graciously and wholesomely thank
Darkstar Ripclaw, another GameFAQs user, for having bought me this game.
Without him, I would not have this game, and probably not written an FAQ for
it. 

Well, actually, that pretty much ends another crappy introduction. Here is an

        that I cannot go through Areas 11 and beyond. I'm going to try and

        Area 13, the last one I did in the update, almost made me wish I did

v1.00 - I am missing two optional areas (16 and 17), but this is officially
        complete, as I can do Area 18 and finish the game. I have documented

Except for the L/R Buttons when using a GBA SP or using the GameBoy Player
accessory; they widen the screen or make it narrower.

~~ D-Pad        : (Up) Hold to scroll screen up; go through doorways.
                  (Down) Hold to scroll screen down; crouch; quickly double-tap
                         go drop below platform and hang onto bottom.
                  (Left/Right) Move left and right.
                  (Up/Down) When on elevator, move elevator up and down.
~~ A Button     : Fire your Bionic Claw.
~~ B Button     : (Tap) Use your primary attack.
                  (Hold and release) Use your secondary attack.

How to use the Bionic Claw
--------------------------

When you fire your Bionic Claw, you can fire in several directions, depending
all on how you're facing and pressing the D-Pad.

~~ No D-Pad Use : Diagonally upward and left/right, depending on facing.
~~ Holding Left : Directly left.
~~ Holding Right: Directly right.
~~ Holding Down : Directly left/right whilst crouching, depending on facing.

When falling, you may as well not be using the D-Pad if you plan on using the
Bionic Claw. Otherwise, it won't work. When not using the D-Pad and falling,
firing the Bionic Claw makes it fire diagonally upward, depending on your
facing.

Once the Claw is attached to something...

~~ Press A Button to move closer to the Claw's position.
~~ Press the D-Pad in the opposite direction to get rid of the Claw and regain
   control of your Commando.

If hanging from the Claw (straight down)...

~~ B Button: Fire weapon.
~~ D-Pad   : (Up) Climb to object you're hanging from.
             (Down) Fall down.

If hanging from the Claw in a diagonal-upward manner and still standing...

~~ D-Pad: (Down) Claw disappears and Commando crouches.
          (Opposite Direction) Claw disappears.
          (Same Direction) Swings.

If swinging...

~~ D-Pad   : (Down) Claw disappears and Commando falls.
             (Left/Right) Move that way and release grip at highest point in
                          swing.
~~ A Button: Claw retracts and Commando drops from where the Claw was.

Go as far right on the ground level as possible, swinging past the barrel, and
you'll reach a soldier. Kill him and get onto the platform near the end of this
ground-level path.

Go up three platforms and kill the soldier, then go to the right. Get onto the
platform above and to the right. Go right, into the gap, then get onto the
platform above you and to the right again. Kill the soldier there and go to the
right end of the platform. From here, fall down the ledges to ground level.

Defeat the soldier on your left, and the one on the platform above. Go left
some more on ground level to find another soldier on an above platform. Kill
him and move right until you see a brown rectangle, possibly a tree, in the
background. Kill the soldier nearby.

Climb some of the platforms nearby. As you go up on your second, kill the
soldier nearby. Continue going up and repeat on the fourth and sixth ledge.
Then get on that fifth ledge and go through the doorway by pressing Up on the
D-Pad.

Here, you'll find a communications room. Approach the computer nearby for some
useful knowledge. You'll learn how to use Sniper Scopes, and that one is to the
right of the communications room. You'll also learn that the missile site is
complete...

Go to the right and when indicated, use the Sniper Scope. Kill the three
enemies to receive a health pack. Use it, then get atop the ledge above the
comm. room. Kill the soldier again and use the Bionic Claw to get attached to
and onto the platform above and to the right.

Go to the right to ground level and as far as possible - beware the soldier on
the way. Once blocked by some gray objects, attach onto the ledge to your left.
Get onto it and diagonally attach and swing using the ledge above you and to
the right.

Once past the gray objects, you'll note a platform above you (when on ground
level). Get on it, then onto the ledge above it. Go to the far right and hit
ground level, then go through the doorway nearby.

Here, you'll meet up with your first boss.

Go as far right as possible. See that rightmost ledge? Get into the gap between
it and the ledge on the left. Quickly and lightly tap Right on the D-Pad and,
after each tap, fire your Bionic Claw straight up. Once it attaches, get on the
platform from there and crouch and fire your weapon to the right at the boss's
weak point. Most likely, the boss's laser won't ever be able to hit you, so you
will be fine.

For winning, you'll get the Energy Pills. When you press Select, you'll be able
to fully refill your health; you only get one use, though, so use them wisely.

When you start, proceed to the right as far as possible and kill the soldier on
the way. Afterwards, climb to the top of the platforms and kill that soldier,
then proceed as far right as possible. You'll meet up with a soldier and a
spike pit. Kill the soldier.

Climb up two of the nearby platforms, then diagonally attach and get onto the
one on your right when the soldier isn't near. Then kill the soldier. If he 
won't move away, swing across the gap to another platform, then get on the
platform above to kill the soldier.

Go to the right on ground level until you reach a comm. room. Kill the soldier
nearby, then enter. You'll then learn how to fall through platforms (double-tap
Down) and how to use elevators.

Back outside the comm. room, go to the right on ground level for a while and
kill three more soldiers, go down some makeshift stairs, then kill one more
soldier. Continue to the right until you can no more.

Climb to the top of the nearby platforms; you'll kill one soldier on the second
platform, and one on the top. Then go through the doorway.

Here, in the base, go to the right, into the gap, and through the platform. Go
to the right some more, kill the soldier, then go to the right to the elevator.
Go down until a corridor opens on the left; go down it and kill the soldier.

Go down to ground level and kill the soldier on the right. Get onto the blue
platform, then attach diagonally onto the platform on the right. Kill the
soldier on there, then get atop the platform above and to the left. Then climb
up a platform, attach the Bionic Claw diagonally up and right, then swing to
the right and hope to make it in the next corridor.

Once you eventually DO make it in there, go to the right and kill the two
soldiers as you proceed to the end of the corridor. Climb up the two platforms
and kill the soldier on the left, then swing from the blue platform on top to
the ledge on the right.

Next, go right to the elevator. Go down one level and empty what you can of
soldiers. Repeat until you hit ground level. Get back up to the top, then go
right to another elevator. Repeat the process here; note that one right alley
suddenly triggered a supply drop for me.

Return to the top when done, then go left to the first elevator. Go to ground
level and go as far right as possible, emptying the area of soldiers. Then
climb up the ledges nearby, killing the two soldiers on the left side. Once
done here, go back to the far left of the ground level to find the comm. room.

Nothing really of interest here. Once you exit, go back to the right and empty
the ground level of soldiers, as before. Climb up the ledges and kill the
soldiers, as before. At the top, attach to the roof and swing to the right to
find a doorway.

Go through the doorway.

Here, go to the far right of the area and kill the soldiers as you go. At the
last platform, climb up to it and get your back even with the freaky square's
right side. Fire to the right to attack the boss. Feel free to shoot any
soldiers that try to get at you; you may need to move if they come from above.

For winning, you'll obtain the Key Card. You'll need it to access locked areas.

It may be helpful to bring along the Energy Pills.

Once you arrive, go right and to the platform. Kill the lizard-thing (crouch
and shoot), then climb up the platforms. As you reach the level with two, get
on the one on the left, then crouch and shoot to the right to kill the next
lizard-thing.

Continue up and you'll have to deal with a soldier; attack from the left ledge.
Once on the late soldier's platform, get onto the one above and to the right.
Kill the soldier there, and the one on the ledge above. Go to right on the
first ledge, then swing via the platform that is above and to the right to
reach a metallic platform.

Go right and kill the soldier, then swing via the tiny ledge above to the next
one. Go right and into the gap to find the comm. room. You'll learn how to move
the screen up and down, more or less.

Exit the comm. room and go right and onto the ledge above. Kill the soldier and
use the platform with the barrels to swing to the right. Once you land, climb
to the top platform, kill the soldier, and simply move right until you hit a
stone roof. Kill the soldier there.

From the right side of the building, you'll probably note some stone ledges.
Attach diagonally to get on them. Kill the soldier on the ledge you originally
attached to, then climb to the top and go left to find an extra life.

Go right off the roof to land on a ledge. Go to the ledge below, then attach to
and get on the ledge above and to the right. Kill the soldier and climb the
platforms until you are below the ledge with the satellite dish. Attach your
Claw to the orange block above and to the right, then swing right into a
corridor. Go right and kill the soldier, then go through the doorway.

You'll find your boss for this level. This boss is armored, so he cannot be
damaged directly due to his shield. My trick to ... well, trick him into
raising his shield by going to the top level and fooling him into raising his
shield to attack me via sonic waves when beneath me. When he raises the shield,
get off the platform and shoot at him.

Of course, this strategy is flawed in that you are very likely to get damaged
after the boss's shield is lowered. Hence the reason why I recommended the
Energy Pills earlier.

Once you win, you'll receive the Helmet. It prevents the first point of damage
you take.

I suggest bringing the Energy Pills.

Once you arrive here, use the ledge above and to the right to swing to the
right. Then get on the above ledge and kill the soldier. Go to the right and
use the above small ledge to right to the right. When you land, get onto the
main platform.

Note that, from here on out, paratroopers will come in at random. Be wary, for
not even MY FAQ can guide that well. :)

Head to the right side of the main platform and head up the ledges to the top.
Kill the soldier up there and proceed to the right and over the edge. Continue
going over until you are next to some grass tufts and there is a soldier to
your right. Kill him.

Go over the right edge of this platform, then go right and kill the soldier. Go
down another level and right to the comm. room. You'll that another commando is
going to give you another Decoder. Also, as the enemy is tracking your signal
from your current Decoder, you shouldn't tap the comm. system or you'll be
ambushed in the comm. room.

Once you exit the comm. room, go right and climb up three ledges and you'll
end up killing three soldiers. Once you do, at that third ledge, go to the left
side of it and attach to the platform above you. Climb onto it and onto the one
above. Kill the soldier to your right. Go right to the doorway; kill the
soldier to its right.

Note here, at the doorway, you can execute a glitch where you can easily kill
the soldier to the right of the door after re-exiting the doorway, grab any
cartridges and re-enter and re-exit until you receive a bunch of HP. Of course,
it is likely to become a tedious process, so just focus on going up one or two
points.

Inside this room, speak with the commando nearby to learn that the Green
Decoder is in the generator room atop the waterfall nearby. (What, she couldn't
hold on to it?)

Exit the room and go to the right. Head to the bottom of the ledge stacking,
killing the two soldiers as you go. Proceed right into the waterfall. Climb up
the platforms you see. At the ledge under the partially-exposed one, use the
brick block to the right to swing to another brick ledge.

There, proceed to the far right and kill the three soldiers as you go. Then go
up the far right ledges and kill the three soldiers there as you go. At the top
platform, use the brick block to swing left to another ledge.

Swing left again and, as you go towards (and under) the orange platform, fire
your Claw at it and climb onto it. Swing left once more and go through the
doorway for your boss.

Here, go to the far right of the area and kill the soldiers as you go. At the
last platform, climb up to it and get your back even with the freaky square's
right side. Fire to the right to attack the boss. Feel free to shoot any
soldiers that try to get at you; you may need to move if they come from above.

For winning, you'll obtain the Green Decoder, usable in Areas 6, 7, 8, and 9.

You'll need to bring the Key Card here.

Upon arriving, go to the right and, at the gate, press Select to open it up via
the Key Card. (Seriously, be sure to press Select when prompted; going too far
right with the things flying equals an instant kill.) Go to the right and kill
the soldier, then climb the platforms on the right side of the room.

Swing to the left and, as you do, be sure to fire your Claw at the platform as
you go. Climb onto it, and go right and up the ledges, killing the soldier as
you go.

Here, you'll have to attach to the roof (at the top of the ledges) by firing
straight up, falling, and then firing the Claw diagonally left and using that
momentum from the swing to attach to the platform. Climb onto it, then repeat
this to get below the next platform.

Get onto it and swing to the right. Go to the right and you'll eventually find
an elevator. Use it to go down some and kill the soldier on the left. Go down
to a platform and head to the right. Kill the soldier and continue to the far
right. Climb up the ledges to find a comm. room.

Do what you want there, then exit and head to ground level. Go to the left side
to find a soldier and platform; kill the former and go through the latter. Go
to the right and kill the soldier, then go further right and use the Sniper
Scope. Collect any rewards or defeat any enemies after finishing it.

Go to the right afterwards and swing across the gap. There, swing to the right
and, when in mid-air, fire the Claw again and swing again. Repeat until you're
on the other side. There, go to ground level to the right and kill the soldier,
then go to the small gap.

Here, crouch and fire the Claw to the right, then press the A Button to go
through the gap. Go to the right and start climbing the platforms. At the top,
kill the soldier on the left. Head to the right edge of the platform and attach
to the roof. Fall and fire the Claw and proceed to swing across. Go right and
kill the soldier, then go through the doorway at the end.

Here, you'll find your boss.

And he's quite simple. He is fast, though. Stay near the entrance and crouch.
Once he comes near, fire your Claw at him and he'll stop. Fire at him now.
Repeat as needed. 

After finishing the level, you'll get the Fast Charge Device, which charges
your secondary attack twice as fast as before.

Bring the Green Decoder and the Energy Pills.

Upon arriving, go to the right and to the doorway. Kill the soldier on the
ledge above and go through the door.

Once inside, go to the right and down the elevator. Kill the soldier in the
first corridor on your left, then return to the elevator and go all of the way
down. Here, swing across the spike pit, refiring the Claw as you fall from the
swing.

On the other side, kill the soldier, then go left and down the gap. Go right
and kill the soldier. Go to the right and go down and you'll notice some moving
platforms in the room to the left.

Ride the first one and get onto the next one. Ride it to a ledge and repeat
this idea of elevator riding. At one point, you'll notice a medical kit below
you. Grab it, but only if you actually have lost health. If you grab it, drop
below and hang onto the platform. Use the usually fall-and-swing technique to
get to a ledge.

Back past the pits, next to the first moving elevators, go back to riding them.
As you ride the one that moves down and left, pay attention above and to the
left for a block. Use it when possible to swing left to a platform with a door.
Go on through.

On the other side, go to the right and up the ledges. Kill the soldier on the
way. At the top, swing to the right and over the gap. As you fall after the
first swing, fire the Claw again so as to get onto the high-up blue platform.

There, attach to the platform above and to the left and swing left. Go left and
kill the soldier. Then climb onto the platform above and head into the comm.
room located there.

Do what you want there and exit. Climb up the ledges above the comm. room and
kill the soldiers on the way. At the top, you'll begin another chain of riding
moving elevators. Cool. At the end, you'll be at an elevator bringing you very
clsoe to the spiked roof, so that you have to duck to avoid damage.

There, fall on the right side and, when the corridor to the right is revealed,
attach to that roof and swing over to the blue platform. Attach to it and get
onto it. Climb onto the platform above you and kill the soldier.

Ignore the doorway to the right. Backtrack to the platform you originally swung
onto from the elevators. Drop through and kill the soldier on the right. Go
through the platforms on the right and, when you're hanging onto the platform
with a sign (skull and crossbones), be ready to swing into that blue hall. For,
at the end, is an extra life.

Now, backtrack to that doorway and go through.

On the other side, swing across the gap. On the other side, attach to the roof,
fall, and re-attach to the roof and swing across. On the other side, attach to
the roof and fire your weapon at the cannon nearby to destroy it, or it'll get
in the way.

Repeat at the next ledge after doing the fall-and-swing thing. Do that
fall-and-swing thing again to reach the next ledge. Kill the soldier to your
left, then proceed to the left and go through the doorway.

Here, you'll meet your boss. If you have enough health and the Energy Pills
(you'll need about four to five units altogether), just firing at the boss will
be sufficient. Seems weird - such an easy boss after such a tough level.

After the level ends, you'll receive the Wide Gun -- it allows you to fire in
three directions at once.

Here, go to the right and through the doorway. Kill the soldier on the platform
above if you feel like it.

Inside, go to the right and kill the soldier. Continue to the far right side of
the area and climb the platforms. As you go up, beware the floating soldier and
the roof cannon; attach to the bottom of the platform above to more easily
finish them off.

Once at the top of these platforms, swing to the left and over the gap. Attach
to the roof to kill the cannon, and proceed left and far up the tower of
platforms. Once you reach the area with smaller, darker platforms, get onto the
lowest and leftmost one. Fall and attach to the next platform to get on.

Attach to the next platform and get on it. Attach to the rock above, then use
the fall-and-swing technique to go left. You'll overshoot the platform you
want, so be sure to fire the Claw at it as you fall. Climb up the platforms to
the top, then go right. Kill the soldier and enter the comm. room.

Once outside, go left to find a platform supported by two rocks. Attach to the
left side of the left rock and use the fall-and-swing technique to get under
the main platform. Attach, get on, and kill the soldier.

Climb up to the next platform. See the small platform above and to the right?
Get onto it, then fall off the right side of it and attach to the next platform
to the right. Repeat to get to a more mainstream platform. Climb up to the top
platform and kill the roof cannon nearby.

Now, at the top, swing to the left and repeat until you reach a blue platform
above you. Obviously, get on it. Defeat a nearby soldier and climb up to the
tip-top platform. Kill the soldier nearby.

Now, go to the right and you'll see a stalactite. Swing to the left, from it,
to the blue platform above. Climb up another few platforms and kill the
soldier nearby.

See that lowering of ceiling on the right side? Repeat what you did with the
stalactite from earlier, though I think it'll be better to use the
fall-and-swing technique. Head to the top.

In this corridor, proceed to the right and kill the roof cannon on the way. To
its right, you'll see an elevator and another roof cannon. Kill the latter
before using the former to go up.

At the top, you'll have to fight the cannons.

This boss is actually kind of hard and unpredictable. The basic concept is to
go around and shoot all of the flashing red tiles you see until they start
flashing blue and yellow. They are found mostly along the graphics of the
background cannons.

What makes this hard, however, is that paratroopers will come in great numbers,
especially on those small platforms. Additionally, aside from the lack of room,
the area will shake violently on occasion, disabling your Claw. (You'll know
when this is about to happen when you hear "Warning!" in the background.) You
won't lose the ability to use your weapon, however, and the paratroopers are
less active, if at all, during this time -- use it to your advantage.

For winning, you'll get the Steel Boots, which allow you to damage enemies by
swinging into them whilst using the Bionic Claw.

Go to the right upon arriving to find the doorway. Kill the soldier on the
platform above it, then go on through.

Inside, go to the right. Climb onto the platform and kill the soldier, then
continue upward. Go right to the edge and hang onto the roof to kill the roof
cannon. Then walk to the right and into the gap. Continue to the right and
defeat the soldier.

Go through the platforms he was on top of, then go left. Kill the roof cannon
and go left and into the gap. Continue along this path, killing another soldier
and another roof cannon.

Eventually, you'll fall into a bigger area. Go left and along the path; you'll
probably want to kill the roof cannon on the way, though neither of you will
likely notice each other.

Soon, you'll reach a spiky gap. Use the fall-and-swing technique and repeat
swinging to get to the other side. Go right and kill the soldier, then right
some more. Climb onto the platform above and kill the soldier, then onto the
platform above there. Hang onto the roof and kill the roof cannon.

Use the roof to swing right to another platform. Kill the soldier, get onto the
platform above, then kill the roof cannon. Go to the right to find the comm.
room. Don't tap the communications unless you want to be attacked by two
soldiers.

Back outside, go to the right and onto the platform above. Hang onto the one
above it, then use the fall-and-swing technique to go to the one on the right.
Get onto it and kill the soldier to the left.

Now, see that platform above? Use the fall-and-swing technique from there to
go left. Swing onto the block in mid-air, then hang onto the next barrel
platform. DO NOT SWING. Rather, press A to re-center yourself or whatever, then
fall-and-swing technique yourself to the left onto the next platform.

Now, be very careful here. If you fall, odds are, you'll have to start from the
start of the previous paragraph or two, okay?

Swing to the right across the blocks to a small blue platform. Get onto it and
swing left via the block to a blue platform. Get onto it and swing to the right
to the other side of the room. Get to the top of these platforms and kill the
roof cannon to the left. Swing across the gap and fall through the first
platforms you see.

After the second one, use the fall-and-swing technique to cross over the spike
pit to another blue platform stack. Get to the top of it and move left to kill
another soldier. Eventually, you'll find a barrel near a platform. Get on the
left side of the barrel, then crouch facing left and use the Claw to go through
the gap. Kill the soldier and get back on the other side of the gap.

There, go through the two platforms below the barrel. At the bottom, get on the
left side of the barrel. Like before, duck facing left and use the Claw go draw
yourself to the barrel on the other side. Kill the soldier, then go left and up
the platforms to a doorway. Go on through.

Here, go to the far right of the area and kill the soldiers as you go. At the
last platform, climb up to it and get your back even with the freaky square's
right side. Fire to the right to attack the boss. Feel free to shoot any
soldiers that try to get at you; you may need to move if they come from above.

For winning, you'll obtain the Vest, which prevents two points of damage. Cool.

Upon arriving, go to the right and kill the soldier. Then get onto the platform
above and go through the doorway.

Here, you'll have to beware these slime enemies that will carry you away until
you either fall in the pit they're taking you to, or until you use the Claw to
attack to the roof.

Anyways, go to the far right side of the area. Climb up the two ledges and go
left. You'll notice the air vent spewing ... well, air. This can give you a
small boost in the form of a "jump". Use it to attach and get onto the platform
above and to the left by attaching the Claw to it during your "jump".

Go up the ledges and to the right until you encounter some kind of lizard-thing
on a ledge. Kill it, then swing from here left to another platform. There, go
left to find the comm. room. Speaking with your allies yields that the Blue
Decoder is at the end of the level. Why do they NEVER just hand these over
directly?

Exit the room and go left and over the edge. Kill the enemy nearby and you'll
note the air vent to your left. Use it to be able to swing left via the roof
nearby.

At this point, as I proceeded left, I was grabbed by a slime and dragged down a
bit to a fire pit.  >_<  So assume that this happens to you, or make it happen
to you, for I simply went on from here. Sorry.

Go to the left side of the room, near the Christmas-y area. Don't enter that
area, but just go up the ledges nearby. Kill the enemies as you go until you
notice the black alcove nearby with sparkling red things. Kill the enemy on the
above ledge.

Now get on the left side of this ledge. Swing to the right and attach to the
above platform as you go. Then simply move left to find the proper doorway.

(I wonder if this way was the easier one...)

So, yeah, you'll find your boss. I simply sat there near the entrance (after
going to the right and initiating the boss) and fired at the boss. I didn't
even need my Energy Pills. Then again, I also started with about five or six
units of health.

Once you win, you'll receive the Blue Decoder.

Once you arrive, you'll need to attach to the lights to your right and swing
across them.

Once you land on a platform, go to the right and kill the soldier. Then climb
up the ledge above you. Swing to the right and over the gap via the light,
then climb up the ledges and go right through the doorway.

On the other side, go up the ledge and left to kill another soldier. Head to
the far left side of the ledge. Swing right from the light to the fan to the
next light. Once at that second light, swing LEFT and hang onto that platform,
then go left and hang onto the other end of it. Get on.

From here, swing right via the fan to hang onto and get on another platform.
There, attach to the roof and use the fall-and-swing technique to go left and
hang onto a light. There, swing right and aim the Claw straight up to get onto
another platform.

Attach to the fan on the right and start swinging. Swing LEFT to the light,
then RIGHT to a light, then right again to a platform. Get onto it and kill the
soldier.

Attach to the fan on the left and swing left to a platform. Go through the
doorway there and right for a while, killing the soldier on the way. You'll
soon reach a "!" sign.

There, hang onto the light and swing right onto the platform. From there, you
will see three lights. Attach to the middle one and swing to the right to the
next one, then left to the platform. There, you'll find the comm. room.

Finish your business and exit. Outside, kill the soldier to the left and attach
to the light, then swing right to the platform. Get onto it and move left to
another "!" sign. Use the lights to swing to the left to another platform,
where you'll have to kill another soldier.

Now, underneath this platform, you'll find a light and a fan, with another
smaller platform below and between. Land on said platform and use the light to
swing left to another platform. Get onto it and kill the soldier to your left.
Then attach to the platform on your left and get on.

Swing right via the fan to return to the platform after the light series.
Attach to the roof above, swing left, and aim the Claw straight up. Repeat this
until you reach another platform. Get on it and go right to kill the soldier.

Now, get atop the ledge at the left side. Swing from that light right to the
next one, then right to the ledge. Kill the nearby soldier. Now, hang onto the
ledge above you, then use the fall-and-swing technique to go left to the light,
then swing around some more to another ledge.

Here, wait for the soldier nearby to go away. Swing right from the light, then
attach to the roof. Use the fall-and-swing technique to go right to another
ledge. Get on it, then go left to kill the soldier.

Go to the right and you'll notice another light. Swing left from it and attach
to the platform way over there. Get onto it, then swing right from the nearby
light to another. There, swing LEFT to another light. Then swing RIGHT to one
more light. Then swing LEFT two more times to a light, then a platform.

Kill the nearby soldier and swing right from the light to another. Go left to
another, right twice, left twice, right twice, and left to a ledge. *whew!*
Be sure to kill the soldier on the way by hanging still by pressing A; you'll
have to re-do some of this, though.

Go through the doorway on that ledge.

Here, ascend the ledges nearby and you'll notice a purple object riding the
wall. Get on this, but try to avoid what it shoots. Once it gets high enough,
attach to the ledge to the right and get onto it. Repeat this across another
two elevators.

At that third one, you'll need to swing left across the roof, starting with the
fall-and-swing technique, to reach a green ledge. Get onto the purple elevator
there and get onto the nearby green ledge. Get onto the next elevator and ...
you know, there's no point in really describing this. Just go along the
elevators and go through the doorway at the end.

For winning, you'll get the powerful Laser Gun.

When you arrive, go to the right and kill the two soldiers. Backtrack to the
platform with the barrels and attach to it. Use the fall-and-swing technique to
go to the right. Attach to that platform and repeat, then repeat once more at
the next platform to reach another platform.

Get onto it and swing left via the light nearby to a ledge. Get on it and kill
the soldier, then climb onto the ledge above. Go to the right and kill the
soldier. Then swing via the light to the right to another, then to a ledge. On
the left side of said ledge, you can do some sniping.

Once you're done, go to the right and attach to the light, then swing across
the gap. Go through the doorway on the other side.

On the other side, go to the right and swing across the gap via the light. Then
go right and attach to the platform above. Use the fall-and-swing technique to
get to a spot that is viable for getting on, then get on. Go right into the
gap.

Upon landing, go right to the light. Use it to swing right to another light,
then to a platform. Swing right at that light to another platform. Swing right
at the next light and swing again from the roof to reach another ledge. Go
right there and get onto the platform above.

Use the fall-and-swing technique here to go left to another platform. Kill the
soldier below if you want. Get on the aforementioned platform and kill the
soldier to the right. Use the fall-and-swing technique to go right to another
platform. Swing left to a ledge.

Get on the platform to the left and kill the soldier across the gap, then swing
right across it. Go right and into the gap. Kill the soldier(s) here, then go
left and into that gap. Kill that soldier and head right. Kill the soldier and
go along the linear path between the platforms, killing soldiers as you go.

When you land, go left. Kill the soldier and go through the doorway.

On the other side, go to the far right side of the room, killing three soldiers
on the way. Get onto the platform above, and continue to the top. There, use
the fall-and-swing technique to go left and onto the platform. Kill the soldier
and head into the left gap.

Go left to the spike pit. In the hall before, use the fall-and-swing technique
to go left and onto the platform above the pit. Attach to the platform above
and use the fall-and-swing technique to go left and onto it. Continue to the
top platform and kill the soldier on your left. Go left.

Continue along this leftward path, never getting on a platform. (Though feel
free to kill soldiers on the way.) Once you see a spike pit to your left, swing
left across the pit and kill the soldier on the other side. Climb up to the top
of this series of platforms.

Kill the soldier at the top, then use the fall-and-swing technique to go right
across the gap. Kill the soldier on the other side, then use the fall-and-swing
technique to go right some more. On the other side of the first spike pit is
another soldier to kill.

Repeat this to get on the other side of the second spike pit, where you'll need
to kill another soldier. Get atop the platform above you, then kill the soldier
to the left. Attach to the roof and use the fall-and-swing technique go to the
left. You can safely avoid the soldiers on the way. You'll soon reach the comm.
room.

Here, do your business, but don't tap the enemy comm. system. Exit when done.

Back outside, go to the far right side of the area. You can, more or less,
swing there safely. Climb atop the platforms there and then use the
fall-and-swing technique to head left for a while. You'll soon reach the wall
and a platform; get onto it.

There, use the fall-and-swing technique to go right and onto the platform. Kill
the soldier to the right. Then use the fall-and-swing technique to head left;
you'll note one soldier on the way. Ascend the platforms at the end and swing
right across the gap. Kill the soldier to your right, then use the
fall-and-swing technique to head to and through the doorway.

This boss is unusually simple, so long as you have enough health and the Energy
Pills. Go to the right to initiate the boss, then simply stay there and shoot
at him. And shoot and shoot. Use the Energy Pills when you hit one point of
health.

For winning, you'll obtain the Rocket Launcher, which blasts enemies away.

Bring the Blue Decoder and some Energy Pills. The Steel Boots are a debatable
alternative for the boos.

Here, go to the right and onto the platform above. Fall off the right edge of
it and you'll notice the skull-and-crossbones sign. There, swing from the light
to the platform across the gap. Kill the nearby soldier, then onto the platform
with the barrels.

Swing right from one light to another (three altogether) to hit a wall and
land on a ledge. Go right to find to find a doorway.

Ignore the fact that any doorways exist here, okay!? But go right and swing
right from the light. When you land, kill the soldier, then go left and into
the gap. Go left until you take a relatively long fall, then go right and kill
the soldier. Get onto the platform near the doorway and head right.

Kill the soldier you'll come across, then look at the lowest platform with
barrels. Get onto it, then use the fall-and-swing technique to go right to
another such platform; repeat there to go to a light, then right to a ledge.
Kill the soldier nearby.

Get onto the left light nearby, then fall and attach to the other one. Swing
right onto a ledge. Attach to the upper light and swing right. Ignore all
lights and you *should* land on a ledge. There, get on the platform below and
kill the soldier.

Get back on the above platform and fall off of the right side, then attach to
the light. Swing right a few times past some lights to eventually reach a ledge
with a doorway. Go on through.

On the other side, I'll simply say I was grabbed at the start by an unexpected
slime and dragged THROUGH a spike pit. So, yes, beware slimes. Remember, to
avoid the drag, attach to the roof or SOMETHING.

Go to the right and swing over the gap. Continue right and fall into that gap.
Go left and use the fall-and-swing technique to cross that gap, then go through
the platform on the left side. Use the fall-and-swing technique to cross to the
right side. Go through the platform and kill the nearby lizard-thing.

Swing across the spike pit to the left and kill the lizard-thing on the other
side. Fall into the gap and head right to find an air vent. Use the jumping
boost from this to swing across the spike pit to the other side. There, go
right and ignore the air vent. Rather, crouch and face right, then use the
Bionic Claw to attach to and get to the radioactive barrel.

Go right and right into the next air vent, then into the next. Attach to the
next air vent and swing from it to the next. Get into that one (on its left
side) to be able to reach a platform. Get onto it and use the fall-and-swing
technique to soon reach another platform. Get on the air vent above it and
attach to the roof, then swing left to another platform.

Get on it and go left into the comm. room.

Do your business and leave. Swing across the roof to the other side, then let
yourself go down with the wall. Reattach and swing right when first possible
and get onto the air vent. Swing across the roof to the right to reach a door.
Go through.

Here, go along the elevators for a while. Kill any enemies that you see. That
is all I really can say. Go through the doorway at the end.

On the other side, go left and attach onto the helicopter. Go onto that ledge
and up another. Kill the roof cannon and swing left across the ledges to the
cockpit door. Beware all of the paratroopers on the way. Once you make it to
the door, just shoot. Once the door explodes, go through it to win.

You'll then get the Yellow Decoder, needed in Areas 13, 14, and 15.

Bring the Yellow Decoder and some Energy Pills. 

Once you arrive, go to the right and defeat the enemy on the small platform.
Climb up the tower near you and kill the sentry on top. Fall off of the right
edge and get to the top of the next tower. Defeat that sentry. Fall off of the
right side again, then go right. Get on the white ledge and defeat the soldier.

From the ledge, you should be able to defeat the enemy on the ledge to your
right by crouching and shooting. Get on that ledge, then onto the one above to
kill another soldier. Fall off of the right side, then get onto the higher
ledge nearby and kill this soldier.

Start climbing ledges. When you reach the top, hang onto the bottom of the
platform with the brown boxes, then use the fall-and-swing technique to go onto
the platform to the right and down. Kill the nearby soldier, then use the
Sphinx's nose as a block to swing right across the gap.

On the other side, ascend the ledges and go through the doorway.

Here, fall down the long gap and attach to the roof of the SECOND LEFTBOUND
hallway you notice. Swing along that until the theme is darker and land. Hit
ground level to the left and kill the soldier. Get on top of the platform
nearby, then go left to the wall.

Fall through the platform and kill the soldier, then go left. You'll soon find
a roof cannon to kill, then a spike pit. Oh, fun.

Well, actually, so long as you don't screw up, you'll be fine. From the darker
hall, use the fall-and-swing technique to go left and attach to the platform
above the spikes. Get on it, kill the soldier, and approach the top. There,
fall off to the left and attach to the mid-air block. Swing from it left to
another platform. Ascend to the top here.

Use the fall-and-swing technique to go right and through the doorway.

On the other side, kill the nearby soldier, then go right. When you step on
the white tiles, they'll fall back and you'll fall, too. Attach to a platform
on the right and get on. Swing right from the roof to another platform to the
right and above. Get onto it and kill the nearby soldier.

Go right some more to find some white tiles. You'll have no choice here,
either, but to fall down through them. Pay attention to the right side and
attach on the roof when first possible. Drop down from there and reattach to
the roof on the right when first possible, then get onto the platform.

Go right onto the next platform, then swing from the mid-air block right to
another to another ... seem familiar? Eventually, you'll reach some ledges. Go
up them and right to find the comm. room. Get some hints there and leave.

Outside of the comm. room, go right and through the white tiles. Attach to the
roof on the right as you fall and steady yourself on this first platform. Go
through the platform above and kill the soldier, then proceed to the top
platforms and kill the next soldier to the right.

Now, backtrack to where the comm. room was (or, at least the platform after the
trap after it). On this level, proceed to the right and, at EACH sarcophagus,
press Up on the D-Pad to try and go through. One of them will do it and be the
hidden door you may have noticed being mentioned in the enemy communications.

On the other side, ride the elevators for a while across the fire pits. You
will have to dodge some fire from the roof cannons, but, hey, it's better than
being burned -- at least you can dodge bullets. That fire is so low it is an
"instant" kill.

After the second elevator, you'll have to swing right across a mid-air block to
a ledge. Get onto it, then back hanging under it. Use the fall-and-swing
technique to move right to solid ground. 

There, go along the linear path right, through a platform, left, through a
platform, right, down a platform, left, down a platform, and right to a spike
pit, killing six soldiers on the way.

At the spike pit, get onto the ledges above you and, at the top, attach to the
roof and swing right. Hopefully, you'll land in a small corridor (for that
spike pit is also "instant" death). There, go right to find  *gasp*  another
instant-death pit.

Here, swing across the stalactites to a wall with a platform. Get on that
platform and use the fall-and-swing technique to go right, then attach your
Claw straight up to the roof in the gap, then use the fall-and-swing technique
to go right and through that door.

(THAT was hard. If you have any near my meager skills, you just lost about 40
 lives. =/ )

Afterwards, you'll fight the executioner. And this is almost that hard. Almost.

Anyways, the basic idea is to run around and charge a secondary attack while
luring the executioner close enough to you so that he slices, misses, and gets
tired. Open fire and run away. If you need breathing room, you can shoot while
he's running to make him stop and block your attack.

Afterwards, in the next room, go right and speak with Commander Joe.

Afterwards, you'll get the Rapid Fire Device, which fires three shots at once.

Bring the Yellow Decoder and some Energy Pills. 

When you arrive, head right along ground level and kill the four soldiers on
the way. To your left (when as far as possible) should be a barrel. Get on the
ledge above it and climb up another two. Kill the soldier, then use the
fall-and-swing technique to head left.

Ascend onto the striped platform. Kill the four soldiers on this level, then
go past the left barrel where one soldier was. Ascend the platform near it.
Kill the nearby soldier, then go up and kill another.

Go up for a bit to reach some small platforms with striped borders. It's hard
to tell, but these are some of those air vents. Use them and your Bionic Claw
aptly to reach the top and go through the door. Beware of the paratroopers.

Once inside, go to the right. Skip the first elevator (dead end) and go down
the second. Kill the soldier in the alcove on your right as you go down, then
continue to the bottom. Get on the next elevator to the right and kill the
soldier in the alcove on the left. Continue to the bottom and go left to find
another vulnerable soldier.

Now, backtrack along to the top level and go right and down the next (third)
elevator. Go along this chain. When riding the third one down, kill the soldier
in the alcove to the left. Continue to the bottom.

Go left and kill the two soldiers on the way. At the skull-and-crossbones sign,
attach to the roof above the gap. Face right and fall, then attach to the roof
to the right when you first can to avoid a spike pit. Swing right to the next
ledge and you'll find a nearby comm. room. Cool.

Exit when you're done and go right. Kill the soldier and go right some more to
another. Kill him, too. Go to the right side and kill the soldier on the
platform. Return to the ledge where you fell down before the second soldier,
attach to the roof, and use the fall-and-swing technique to go right and onto
the platform.

Use the fall-and-swing technique here to go right to another blue platform. Get
on and go right and kill the two soldiers. At the right end of the area, you'll
find a platform with barrels. Attach to it and use the fall-and-swing technique
to go left and onto the empty left half of the third blue platform.

Once on, swing onto the barrels via the Claw and the fall-and-swing technique.
Go right and kill the soldier, then go further right. Descend down the nearby
blue platforms until you reach one with a skull-and-crossbones sign. Make sure
you inflict its meaning on the soldier to your left.

Then go through that platform and hang onto the bottom of it, for below is a
spike pit. Go left and swing across the roof to the other side. Kill the
soldier there. Then go left and through the doorway.

Begin by going to the right and swinging right from the three blue blocks to a
ledge. There, swing right from the blue block and, when you see the dark-blue
semi-sphere on the wall, swing from it right into the hall. Kill the soldier
there.

Fall off of the ledge and swing into the next hall via the next dark-blue
semi-sphere. Repeat from there to find our destination.

Go right and kill the soldier, then go right some more to find another. Quickly
attach and detach from the roof while firing your weapon to kill him. Then use
the fall-and-swing technique to proceed right. You'll find another soldier,
past which you'll find another skull-and-crossbones sign. Crap.

Well, actually, it's nothing too hard. Use the fall-and-swing technique to go
right and attach to and get onto a blue platform. Go right and kill the soldier
and go right some more. Use the attach-and-detach idea, like before, to kill
another nearby soldier. Use the fall-and-swing technique to go right. Kill the
soldier on the way.

Oh, cool, another blue block. =/  Well, begin by swinging right across the gap
to a platform and killing the nearby blue soldier. Nearby is a "low" blue
block. Get on its very left bit, attach, and use the fall-and-swing technique
to go right to the next one, then left, then right to a blue platform. Attach
and get on.

Climb up another platform, then go left and kill the soldier. Go left and
through the door.

You'll hate this bit. Mainly because it's tough to describe. I guess you might
be able to use a map and think this bit through. Go to the right and activate
the control thing by firing at it.

You'll then start this thing. You'll want to avoid the fire below. Attach to
the green platform above, get on, then go left. Start swinging from the black
block, then, when it appears (YOU NEVER CAN ATTACH TO SOMETHING YOU CAN'T SEE),
get onto the green platform.

Swing left to (and keep swinging from) the black block to the left with the
spikes on top. Swing right to the other spiky block, then left to the green
platform. Get on and continue simply until a SECOND black block appears. (The
first makes it too hard.)

Remember that back-and-forth thing with the blue blocks in the previous area?
Do that from the SECOND black block here. You should be able to continue rather
easily now from the top, once you learn how to do this.

Go through the doorway at the top.

You'll then receive the Flamethrower for winning. This will blaze through your
foes!

Bring the Yellow Decoder and some Energy Pills. The Flamethrower is a good idea
as well, as it IS the best weapon.

Go to the far right and kill the two soldiers on the way (and witness the might
of the Flamethrower!). See that block near the right wall? Swing left from it
to another, then left to another, then RIGHT and attach upwards to a platform.
Get on the bottom of it and use the fall-and-swing technique to go right to
another platform.

Get on it and kill the soldier, then go right for a while killing a soldier or
two on the wall. Soon, the background will become lighter. Fall off of the
right side of your ledge and attach to the platform with the soldier. Get on
and kill him.

Go up the ledges and kill the soldier on the way. To your left should be a
medical kit. Grab it via the Claw, then get on the underside of this platform
and swing to the right to another set of ledges. Assuming you land on the
next-to-the-top ledge, kill the soldier.

Go up a ledge and kill THAT soldier. Swing from this underside of this ledge
via the fall-and-swing technique and go right another set of ledges. Kill the
soldier on the lowest ledge. Get on the underside of the top ledge and swing
to the right, as before, to some more ledges.

If you land on the top ledge as I did, kill the soldier. Then climb onto the
bottom of the platform on the right and swing left for a bit to a platform with
a radioactive barrel. Swing left from this platform's underside to a platform
with TWO such barrels.

Repeat that process to reach a platform with some crates. Get atop its left
side and attach to the platform above and to the left. Use the fall-and-swing
technique to get to a viable place for getting up. Kill the nearby soldier and
go on through the door.

At the start, get on the underside of the dark-brown platform and use the
fall-and-swing technique to go right and across some blocks with a swing. You
most likely WILL fail at least once; if so, go along the underside of the
platforms above the bottom spike pit to some ledges back to the top (they're
on the left).

With success, you'll be near a ledge with an urn on it. Get on said ledge and
swing right from the nearby block to another, then to the roof. Fall and swing
from there to hopefully land on a ledge of some sort, or at least be able to
climb on one in the second spike pit.

There, on the "go throughable" ledge in the second spike pit, fall off of the
right side and start swinging from the mid-air block. Go right to another
platform or block, then right to the wall and the ledges. At the top, swing
left to find a platform with an elevator.

Ride it up a level and go left to find a roof cannon and a comm. room. Destroy
the former; go into the latter for your usual business.

Back outside, use the elevator to go up to the next level. Go right and down
into the gap. Kill the soldiers nearby and go right until you can get onto a
platform. Get onto it and then to the roof. Kill the nearby roof cannon.

Now, see that platform to your right? Get on its underside, then onto the
platform beneath it. Fall through the bottom of it and swing left to find
the doorway. Go on through. 

Here, go to the far right of the area and kill the soldiers as you go. At the
last platform, climb up to it and get your back even with the freaky square's
right side. Fire to the right to attack the boss. Feel free to shoot any
soldiers that try to get at you; you may need to move if they come from above.

For winning, you'll obtain the Body Armor, which prevents three points of
damage. Our arsenal is starting to look pretty good, eh?

Bring the Flamethrower here.

Once you arrive, go right and kill the paratrooper, then further right to find
some fire jets. Wait for the fire to disperse before moving forward. On the
other side, go right and up onto the ledge, then right and kill the soldier.

Go right some more and you'll need to swing to the right across three twinkling
black diamonds. On the other side, on the ledge, climb up the ledge. (Beware
the blue thing in the pipe, though.) Then swing from the blue block nearby to
another ledge on the left, then from the blue block there right to another
ledge.

Climb up onto the next ledge and go right, then onto the top ledge. Go right
some more, killing the soldier on the way and collecting the medical kit. Swing
from the nearby blue block across a few more, going right to the second, left
to the third, and so on, until you reach a ledge. There, go right and, from its
underside, fall-and-swing to the right to find more fire jets.

Go to the far right side of the area, then onto the ledge and through the
doorway.

Here, first go left. Bypass the trapped white tiles with a fall-and-swing
overhead. Then you'll find some fire jets; avoid them as before. Go left some
more to find some soldiers. Kill and/or bypass them and head to the ledges.

Go on down and through. You'll need to stop landing when you reach an area with
some trees. Kill the soldier to your right, then swing from the overhang to the
right and from the various red/black blocks to the right side of the room, on a
ledge. Kill the soldier on a platform below and go through it.

Go left and kill the soldier, then go left some more. Once at the platforms, go
to where you can attach to the block in the middle of the circle and swing left
to the next one. Repeat and, after the third block, you'll need to swing from
the roof. Go left from there to the doorway and go on through.

Here, use the fall-and-swing technique to go right and over the spike pit. Once
you reach the gap, fall through and go left. You'll have to swing from the low
roof over the platform to the elevator; I recommend using Down on the D-Pad
rather than fully swinging.

Once you get on the elevator, ride to the other side. There, go left and down
through the platforms. Once you hit metal ground, go right and kill the
soldier, then further right. Go through the platform and right.

Now, wait for the elevator and ride it. At its peak, attach to the roof nearby.
Get to the right side of it and swing right to some red blocks. I know they're
hard as hell to see (at least, on my GBA SP), but you'll learn to find them.

You'll soon reach a platform (finally!). Climb up one and kill the soldier,
then climb up another. Now you'll have to swing leftwards from the roof. And
there are some fire jets up here, though you really should ignore them and
plow through, firing your Claw constantly after being hit. Trust me, waiting
is riskier, for you'll need to use the fall-and-swing technique.

Go through the door at the end.

Here, simply swing to the right and hope to your god that you don't fall. After
the big wall and you'll fall, attach to the platform. Get on and go up and
through the door.

Here, you'll fight your boss. I can't describe this, but I can say this much.
He is only vulnerable when he turns into a more human form, so run away until
then.

After you win, well ... you win the game.
