Golden Sun and its sequel (Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age) were originally meant to be one game, but when the project got moved to the Gameboy Advance there were limitations of fitting the whole project onto one game, so the game got split into two games.
Golden Sun unlike most other Gameboy Advance games (which use battery back-up) uses flash memory.
Golden Sun was originally meant to be a Nintendo 64 game and there was a demo of this at the 2000 Spaceworld in Japan, but was then made into a Gameboy Advance game when it was apparent Nintendo were moving from the Nintendo 64 to the Gamecube.
