What's the deal with the last Captain's Stripe?

  1. Following the second to last fight of the game (last ship battle) you get a Captain's Stripe but you never get to go into the menu again before the credits roll. Also as it's the last ship battle in the game anyway, you wouldn't need it. So I'm just wondering what other people think is the reason they even put that last one into the game. There's no point to it whatsoever.

  1. The developers probably just created an algorithm that automatic adds the Captain's Stripe as a drop for ship battles labeled as bosses. The battle is likely labeled as such, being the last one, so the algorithm triggers and gives the stripe.

  1. Captain's Stripes were always a sign of ship victory over powerful ship enemies. You just defeated the best one but you don't have a chance to save. There is no point per say, but you get them from every story ship battle so it's more tradition I suppose.
