Kill 'em All!!

Resident Evil is easily one the best games of all time, with it's intense action and at the same time, it is the thinking man's game. It has a great storyline too, full of twists and turns in a mansion crawling with zombies, giant spiders, and science experiments gone wrong. Also, it has a new element in the game play, remember in the previous Resident Evil games that if a flesh-eating zombie scum latched onto you, there was no escape from it taking a bite out of you? Not anymore! Read on and I will tell you more about it.

Game play: 10/10
I love this game so much it is crazy! I was never a big fan of the Resident Evil series... until now! Plus they added some new elements into the game, such as if zombie grabs you, you can counter-attack by using a defense item such as a dagger or a stun gun. With the dagger you can stab their heads while with the stun gun you can send them wallowing in pain. It makes this game stand out. Also, zombies can come back to life if you don't torch them with kerosene or blow their heads off. They grow claws and instead of just walking after you... they chase you down! And they are fast! This just makes the game more innovative. On top of that, this game is really, really addictive! This game is basically like Night of the Living Dead full of conspiracy and plot twists. So, turn out all the lights and prepare for a gaming experience that you won’t forget!

Story: 10/10
I simply enjoyed the cinematics an the plot of this great game. It is full twists and turns and always keeps you guessing. The story plays a huge role in the almighty Resident Evil. But the story is you choose from two characters, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. (I would use Jill because she has a gun in the beginning of the game while Chris just has a hunting knife). What is happening is that you are part of a military group known as the S.T.A.R.S., and you are sent to a small town known as Raccoon City, where there have been reports of grizzly murders, in which the victims were eaten. Now you are sent to investigate, but everything goes haywire and you end up in a giant, grim, mansion and with one of your squad members missing. Now, you have to investigate the mansion and uncover the secrets of the murders, the T-virus, and find all your friends. Let the bodies hit the floor.

Graphics: 10/10
Incredible! Resident Evil may have some of the best graphics in the history of gaming! Everybody looks so real with all the facial expressions and movement. Also, the environments look very, very, detailed. Some rooms have movements of their own with flickering candles and rustling trees. Also, the lighting effects are so incredible, it shows the true power of the Gamecube technology. The very first time I saw the commercial for this game, for the first fraction of a second, I thought the characters were real people. This game rivals the animation of the Final Fantasy movie. Now that is the meaning of good graphics.

Sound: 9/10
There isn't really anything wrong with the sound, it's just that they can do a little bit better with it. But, the sound is still very good. The voice acting puts you in the middle of the scenario, which is always a good thing. The gunshots, the moaning of the zombies, and the creepy music score adds the fear element that the Resident Evil series is famous for. The only thing that was wrong is that the music score wasn’t diverse. There was only a few different songs that was going on during the gameplay.

Control: 8/10
The controls may be a little clunky at first, but when you get farther in the game it becomes a second nature to who might be playing it and be able to cap zombies with such precision! There are more innovations in the control, like being able to use the c-stick to do a 180 degrees turn and there is also auto-aiming in this game. So, avoiding zombies when you are out of ammo should be a little more simple.

Play Time: 10/10
This game has two discs, that means, it is a long game!! But don't be afraid, a long game is a good game. Resident Evil took me about two or three weeks to beat. So, this game provides a lasting experience that you will remember for the ages. Resident Evil may seem like a big game to conquer… but don’t worry, getting there is half the fun!

Replay Value: 7/10
Resident Evil is a type of game that you may only want to beat once. You may want to try and unlock more secrets, but they are nothing special, so there is little motivation to play it again, and most incredibly long games lack replay value. You may play it sometime after you beat it, but you likely won't finish it.

Forget about Nintendo games being for little kids! Resident Evil is a very intense and very gory game which started the concept of survival/horror. The game is packed with puzzles, so use your head because that is more important than shooting stuff. The developers had totally revamped the graphics and got rid of and put in new rooms and chambers. I think that this game is a truly innovative and addicting game. I would not hesitate to buy this game when you see it on the shelves. It has lots of weapons, ranging from knives to rocket launchers. Resident Evil always keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat while you find your way through the mansion. It is one of the best adventure games ever made with an ending that will make your head spin. Resident Evil is a must for all gamers of the world.
