Resident Evil 0 was originally developed for the Nintendo 64. The reason was because the developers felt that by using cartridges, there would be no loading times and things would go more smoothly. However, as the development went on, things became too complicated and soon the Nintendo GameCube was announced. It was at this time the Nintendo 64 version was cancelled and the game was designed for the GameCube instead.
