How do I get past the gourmet race?

  1. How do I beat King Dedede in the gourmet race grand prix? I tried running and when i get ahead of him he always catches up and wins

  1. You have to dash to stay ahead of him. Dash by pressing left twice.

  2. You dont have to collect the food. its a race race. not a food race.

  3. just to add on, you can get way ahead in the third part by getting the wheel power provided in the beggining of the level, along the track : DDD has no way to catch up

  4. If you can try to only break enough blocks for kirby to get through King DeDeDe will have to destroy more blocks to get through

  5. If you dash, Triple De won't be able to pass you (Kirby is dashing when he raises his little hands over his head). The food serves for bonus points (everything is worth one point a piece except Maxim Tomatos, which are worth three points; there's ALWAYS a Maxim Tomato floating in the air over the finish line, you have to jump to grab it) and grabbing them will rob DDD of points in the race. Winning each session of the race nets you 50 points. Just keep dashing and it's very easy to put Dedede in his place (behind you).
