Magical Starsign (DS)

Anyone have the manual?

  1. I asked over at Replacement Docs a while back but to no avail. I bought this game sometime ago and it never had a manual (because I'm mostly low on money and can rarely afford to get games new). The thing is, I have no idea what some of the various symbols mean in the status menu, or even what most of the items do or anything like that. I love being able to read the manuals and it always bothered me that I couldn't read this one.

My main question is.. if I can't get my hands on a manual or a scan/copy of it.. could someone at least tell me what the various stat symbols mean in the Status? I mean, I can figure out most of them, but the one that says MP% doesn't really make a lotta sense because I don't know what it's implying. How much MP a spell uses? I have no idea. Also, what's the symbol below the EXP, it looks kinda like a spirit or cloud.

Also sorry for using the Answer section, but I'm having difficulty posting lately, I think it's my browser.

  1. Okay, the star is MP%, and I already explained what that was.
The arm/bicep is Strengh (physical attacking power). The higher this stat, the more damage that character will do with punches, kicks, tail swipe, etc.
The light bulb is IQ (offensive magic-casting power). The higher this stat, the more damage that character will do when casting spells.
The helmet is Defense (against physical attacks). The higher this stat, the less damage that character will take when hit with physical, non-magic attacks.
The yellow heart is Spirit (magic defense). The higher this stat, the less damage that character will take when hit with magic attacks.
The foot is Agility. The higher this stat, the sooner that character's turn will come up in battle, with your highest-agility character attacking first, and your lowest last.

The symbol beneath EXP is for your non-elemental spells. You learn these from books, and do not get them until later in the game. Examples are Celestial Swap (very useful, moves the planets), Brawly Ball, Comet Shower, and High Art. A character can only know one non-elemental spell at a time, but you can forget and re-learn others at any time.

Try going to the "Log" section of the game menu, and checking the Encyclopedia. It gives useful information on items, status effects, and many more.

  1. MP% is very important because it is the percentage of MP a character will recover at the start of his/her turn. I'll have to find my manual and get back to you on the rest.
