How do I get the star behind chain chomps gate? Super Mario 64 DS

Get near the Chain Chomp and wait 'til he charges at you. Then go behind him to the wooden post which his chain is attached to. Hurry and get on top of it and ground pound it. Do this three times and he will be freed from the post. He will bounce around, hit the gate, and jump over the wall. Now you can get the star! Hope this helps!smashbrosbar21 - 9 years ago

Keep running around the chain chomp until he jumps at you. Once he does go up to the wood peg thats holding down the chain. Jump over it and ground pound the peg. Once done enough times, the chomp will become free and hit the gate, and you will then be free to get the star.zeldamasterds00 - 9 years ago
