Could anyone give me a brief rundown on the menu translations or what I need to do? It seems to be tournaments, something, training, team positions, players, item shop? Also, controls and gameplay tips would also be so much appreciated!

I haven't played in a while but i guess such routine has been marked on my head, here goes:

Main menu (starting by the center then clockwise from the left upper corner)
-Story/career mode
- Exhibition match
- Tournament mode
- Options
- Mini-games

Options (not really following an order because i never enter here so it won't most likely be accurate info)

- Rule change
- Match time
- CPU difficulty
- Faults on/off
- Rule change page 2
- Automatic character change (to the one closer to the ball)
- Enable/Disable techniques advice display (if you have TP enough to perform a dribble or a shooting technique it won't say B/Y or Shake/X above your head)
- Settings
- Music
- SFX
- Voices
- Enable/Disable commentor
-Tutorials
- Password (can be found somewhere in this boards, search the word password)

Career mode:

-Tournament
- Challenge
- Training
- Team
- Verify your current team mood
- Check your current team bonds
- Adjust your current team positions and techs
- Swap team members
- Customize
- Team name
- Uniform
- Shirt numbers
- ???? (can't remember)
- Scout (recruit)
- Shop

Well that was long -.-U

Now for the controls:
I don't know the wiimote controls sorry, because i play with the classic controller so lets just hope you use it too, controls after a / indicate defensive commands

A: Perform basic dribble (depends on character, can be done up to 3 times) /call for assistance (nearby players will stop the attacker by sliding or using techs)
Y: Shoot (charge when indicated to prepare a technique, requires TP and full inazuma gauge)/slide
X: Perform Dribble technique/ Block technique
B: Pass/"non killer" tackle
R: Sprint
L: Character change (defense only)
L + R: Burning Phase (full tension gauge, you can charge through enemies but if you are victim of a Block/Dribble technique it will go down to 0)

EDIT: Ah the tips, well, while attack just pass until Inazuma gauges start filling then have shooters use their techniques, doing pass-shoots (near goal area press B when told then shoot with Y) fill them faster.

If your opponents use a shoot technique your GK will be asked to choose a tech level (keep an eye on your opponent feet to see their shoot lv*, elements also play big part on this but i never pay attention to those), simply move the stick left or right until the lv shown is the one you want then smash ABXY to have the flame burn twice, that will increase your technique power

*Team techniques have no level, your GK stats should be better than the enemies that shot + elements involved (shooters and goalkeeper elements AND the used techniques elements) + technique you use to stop it

Brief rundown... sorry =(

Thanks a bunch tyson, I've figured out mostly how to play and such from just messing around, only thing I haven't figured out are the elements and how big a role they play. Thanks again!

what are the controls to use the block hissatsu to block the incoming shot hissatsu? i spammed X when the shot is made all the way but the shot still went pass my defender. (btw, my defender has the 'B' beside his defense hissatsu)

Your defender needs to have full Inazuma gauge (blue gauge) and of course a block technique (the small grid next to the character portrait displays what type of techniques does that character have so a B must be shown on it)

When your opponent shoots press X (if you are playing as the defender) or A (to order your defenders to block) i normally smash both buttons because im not sure which one triggers it

Additional tips:

the techniques used must obviously have block properties (i.e. max/the guy with the hat from raimon that has quick draw won't be able to block, but the kabeyama/fat guy the Wall is), luckily there are few block techs that cannot block shoots

using a block hissatsu reduces the shoot power or stops the ball, don't underestimate it though, i got scored by a Dark Emperors Someoka Wyvern Crush despite i used the Mountain and God Hand X the amounts of levels were lv 2 vs lv 3 + 2, my Rococo catch and guard stats are decent and also the shot was made from around halfway to my goal area

Shoot hissatsus can be used to block too (they have a B next to their name in the hissatsu setting screen) it will send the ball (always i think) to the opposite goal, is useful because it saves some TP for your goalkeeper and has the enemies spend theirs or in the best of cases, the enemy GK is out of TP
How to trigger these vexes me, i believe you need to be right in front of the shooter and press (smash) A but try smashing X too just in case

thx tyson for the reply (well i figured it out in the end). Another thing is that, the soccer field icon below the trophy cup icon (when u r in the club room), there are 4 medals for each of the challenges: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. What requirements must be met to get the platinum medal?

Challenge a team on 3 stars difficulty and score 3 or 5 goals (i forgot, check it on the conditions page shown if you press X in that screen) and remain ungoaled
