Don't trade it at a gamestop, sell it for $50 anywhere else.

Sell your DS Lite elsewhere for even more money and put that towards the regular 3DS.
I want Paper Mario Sticker Star, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon,
New Super Mario Bros. 2, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Rayman Legends!

I agree.

Keep your Lite. It's boss for GBA games!

If you have any GBA games, then I wouldn't sell your DSLite. A couple of years ago I gave my DSLite to my nephew since I had a DSi, thinking that I would not want to play my GBA games any more. I was wrong. Just a few months later I bought a brand new DSLite just to replay Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission.

Get the 50$ for 3DS and then buy the 3DS but don't open it. Return it for full credit. Use credit to buy 3DS XL. Problem solved.

When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

The larger screen makes graphical flaws stick out more and the larger design makes it less comfortable to carry with you on trips or while hunting for streetpasses.

I'm personally holding out in hopes for a 3DS lite.
If the Sega Master System was a speed bump to the NES, the Atari 7800 was a tire-staining squirrel.
