Endings Guide-with as few spoilers as possible

Sorry wasn't on for a few days. Yeah I just did a fresh run right now and did exactly as stated, and answered no and I still got scissor ending (which, by the way, would hurt a lot). Assuming this isn't a bug (I think more people would have run into it if it were) could there be any other steps I'm missing or that might trigger it.

You need to acquire both Naomi and Seiko's cellphone in order to live through the ordeal.

No, you didn't mention to pick up Naomi's cellphone.

Because it's not an option. By answering the phone, you are locked into automatically picking it up. So, yes, picking up the phone IS in the requirements, where it says that you must answer the phone when it rings.

Then he probably forget to pick up Seiko's cellphone. Because you sound vague in that sentence and didn't mention Seiko's cellphone, only call it as "item".

We'll see when he responds back.

The guide is supposed to be spoiler free. As far as I know, there is only one item that fits the description in the guide, and he even says that he experimented a lot.

No I have picked up Seikos cellphone as well. Well....****.

This is rather annoying as I have every other ending now. But I guess there's nothing that can be done if nothing can be done. Thanks for the responses though.

Are you sure you haven't gotten the ending already? What star are you missing? What happens to you when you follow these steps? What other endings have you gotten?

Ok, I have NO clue why this worked, but it did so I'll put it here in case anyone else runs into this issue. Every time I failed to save Naomi what I would do is select her, select “Find an item to stand on” and then leave the room and come back in. I didn't even know you could leave the room without selecting an option at all; but I just found out, didn't select her at all, and instead left the room and came back in. And then I proceeded exactly as I had every other time.

And it worked. Now I have no idea why this would work, or if it was even the catalyst. But as it was the only thing I did differently than every other time I can only assume it was the cause ridiculous as that might be. So there you go in case this comes up for anyone else.
