LQ-84i boss:
BP must be 250 or higher for full 1000. In order to get BP easily, make sure you cut the LQ-84i boss properly when you execute him, do not miss your cuts.
You can also get BP easily from the Repair Nanopaste treasure chest nearby.
Longest combo must be 30 or higher to get full 1000.
You can just get the combo during the execution. It will count.
However if you're comboing him when he's already dead, it won't count. No matter how many combo hits you got.
Battle time must be less than 2 minutes for full 1000.
You need 4000 Battle Points to get the S rank.
The other 1000 you automatically get for killing the LQ-84i boss.

MG Ray boss:
BP must be 300 or higher for full 1000.
You can destroy the missiles on the ground to get BP easily from the repair unit(s), even with running triangle charge attack.
Or simply cut properly, do not miss your cuts.
Do at least 3 hits for each Blade mode prompt and do not miss.
Longest combo must be 15 or higher to get full 1000.
Battle time must be less than 2 minutes for full 1000.
You need 4000 Battle Points to get the S rank.
The other 1000 you automatically get for killing the MG Ray boss.

3 Gekkos fight in the garden.
BP must be 500 or higher for full 1000.
Zandatsu 3 for full 1000.
If you Zandatsu when the Gekko is already dead, it won't count either.
3 kills for full 1000.
Something to know about kills: You can get less than 3 if you let the Gekko explode.
Longest combo must be 15 or higher for full 1000.
Battle time must be lower than 1:30 for full 1000.
You need 5000 Battle Points to get the S rank.

Hey, looks like they added a few new enemies to fights on Very Hard mode. That fight where you first meet a Gekko in Normal mode had me pulling my hair out with those two sword dudes.

Me gusta.

The rest of the chapter felt about the same though.

Yeah Very Hard and Revengeance have different enemy setups compared to Normal and Hard; it's pretty fun!

Wow, that fight with the Grad in Chapter 2 was hilariously hard, but I managed to no damage it with enough tries and I learned how to abuse Sai + Blade mode. The Sai recharges in 22 slashes.

But that just made me laugh so hard. I mean, some bosses get new minions on harder difficulties. This boss straight up cloned himself and turned the whole arena into one giant explosion. Of course the minion is much weaker but still just the whole idea of it is a riot.

I love this game so much.

First time I saw his little brother pop up from behind him I laughed really hard as I recall, it's just such funny boss-design. I remember hoping Armstrong would clone himself too, sadly no cigar.

The fake GRAD can be stunlocked completely with the sai just like the VR 18 GRAD.
The real GRAD will recover faster than the sai so you can not stunlock him completely with the sai.

The fake GRAD can also be instantly killed with blade mode wig.

I was actually able to stunlock him, but it requires blade mode spam to slow down time and pretty precise timing, hence 22 slashes.

Ha, the last fight in Chapter 5 VH was ridiculous. I find myself abusung Blade Mode on Very Hard quite a lot.

Also, Armstrong takes a pretty noticeable difficulty spike in this difficulty. I just spent a good 2 hours tetung for the no damage bonus. Got pretty close a few times. Even got him down to 22% and some change once but he trapped me in a circle of flame and then did his yellow explosion. Well played. His yellow attacks in general are more a dangerous than on previous difficulties. I generally have to dodge his yellow dash twice before I'm in the clear because he loops back around. And his yellow explosion, I think is mostly just faster.

What I learn about dodging Armstrong's yellow attacks is dodge backwards, let him start chasing you then dodge to the side. So yeah dodge it twice. First, dodge backwards at the start when you see him prepare it then dodge to the side once he's already on the move.
