If I remember correctly, you need to roll towards Armstrong to make him start using the charged up attacks instead of those yellow dashes all the time.

If you haven't realized already, 2 charged attacks(under Taunt) within a short time are guaranteed to stagger Armstrong so you can follow up with the 3rd charged attack to finish him.

Make sure to blade mode cancel after performing the charge attacks.

Armstrong S rank requirements if you fail No Damage category:
BP must be 500 or higher for full 2000 combat points.
Combo hits must be 30 or higher for full 2000 combat points.
Must finish the battle in less than 5 minutes for full 2000 combat points.

To get 500 BP, must collect at least 4 or 5 Repair Nanopaste. Just to be safe, you probably should collect 5.
IMPORTANT:You know what that means, NEVER RESTART the fight. Or you won't be able to collect the Repair Nanopaste(s) that drops from the planes at 50% HP Armstrong.
A total of 7 Repair Nanopaste can be collected from this fight.
2 at the beginning of the battle from the planes and 5 when you get Armstrong to 50% HP and he throws 5 planes to you, cut them all so that it drops Repair Nanopaste.

If you fail the No Damage category and still want the S rank, you must come to the battle with 5 Repair Nanopaste in your inventory. And you must not lose any Repair Nanopaste before collecting 4 or 5 Repair Nanopaste on the field.

This is because collecting item on the field only gives 100 BP when you already have 5 of that item before collecting it on the field. If you have less than 5 in your inventory, it gives less BP or doesn't give any BP at all when you collect the item on the field.

I just tried it and most of the time I need to use Electrolyte Pack to get the required 30 hits combo.

If you get hit, usually Armstrong will stop attacking or charge his AOE attacks or slow punch when you are near him.
When he charges the slow punch, roll it then charge your charge attack, because sometimes after his slow punch, he proceeds to use his AOE attack.

Conclusion: Failing the No Damage category works to get S rank but you must be skilled enough as well, must collect 4 or 5 Repair Nanopaste on the field before losing any of your Repair Nanopaste, must never die anywhere, get 30 combo hits somehow.

This is more like a fallback plan in case you take damage somewhere.

The trick with Armstrong is to dodge(roll) into him, that will make him do his slow combo attacks or AOE attacks more often. Or simply get hit by his Solidus attack(where he charges across the arena multiple times). He usually stops attacking if he manages to hit me with the Solidus attack.

Best time to get the 30 combo hits is when Armstrong is charging up his AOE attack that takes the longest animation(the stone wall with wires). When he's charging that, refill your FC bar to max and equip Electrolyte Pack so you can quick use it by pressing down on d-pad when you need to use it.

So you guys probably know this already but if youdodge straight backward with good timing when he does the grapple version of the yellow dash, that seems to stop his chain of yellow dash spamming.

Got the S Rank on Sam VH.

Guess I'll do Blade Wolf VH next. Maybe I'll do Blade Wolf Rev after that just to be done with Blade Wolf. Not that I dislike the DLC, but it's much easier so I would be able to knock it out faster.

So you guys probably know this too but if you PP the body double Mistral when she is armless and trying to throw a dwarf gekko at you, you'll one-hit kill her.

Also I found a weird glitch against Monsoon where he forgets he is the body double, jumps into a corner of the stage and throws helicopters at you. The first one was invisible, so I got hit not knowing what to expect.

Yeah that stuff is well known haha, it's the go-to way of beating Fake Mistral. Monsoon is really weird and rushed via coding. You can completely dominate him by tapping Blade Mode which changes his pattern and you can even roll underneath his debris by using a barrel-roll hahahaha. So much stupid things it's fun ;p

EDIT: the Bladewolf DLC can be scary, you have to S-rank all the VR missions too and there's one that can get ... pretty insane.

For Bladewolf DLC VR mission 5 I just spam RP grenade on the swarm of dwarf gekkos. It relies too much on luck fighting them on such narrow space.

Khamsin becomes quite annoying to no damage on Very Hard and Revengeance coz he attacks faster.
I actually can't no damage him on that difficulty but it's quite easy to get the points for the S rank.

Yeah Wolf VR4 was so crazy with the two gekko and the two Fenrirs. I eventually just cheesed it with RP and EM gredades for the raptor and an RP for the last round. The time I finally no damaged it, though, the RP didn't actually help much at all. I got two lucky PP's in a row which took out all but one Fenrir, which is of course easy to deal with.

I always did kinda think Khamsin was underrated in terms of difficulty if you're going for no damage, tbh. It's not that his attacks are hard to dodge if you know they're coming so much he's unpredictable and does them blinding fast sometimes. But I managed to pull it off on VH. I'll need to stock up on RP's and EM's for the BW Revengeance, too. I need to do a quick run anyway for the 40 minutes title so that works out. I nearly got 40 minutes on hard mode, even with all the VR's. Iy was like 41 and some change.

Fun fact about using RP grenade for Blade Wolf VR4: You can stealth kill the gekko from the back.
