I just want to point out that I'm talking strictly FPS multiplayer, so the Starcraft 2 fanatics can chillax. This multiplayer is pretty deep though. Not in the traditional sense, as in it has a s*** load of unlockables and modes and such, but just in terms of possiblities for strategies and outcomes.

The dog tags were brilliant in my opinion. Not only do they do a great job at drawing out campers, but they also make things more interesting in general. After you kill somebody it forces you to ask "now do I run out in the open and grab the tag for my killstreak, or do I play it safe and just wait to kill somebody closer?"

It's a risk vs reward system that I personally think was pretty damn clever on Crytek's part, and it's a mechanic that simply isn't getting enough recognition. Tags alone give C2's multiplayer a bit of it's own personality. Then when you factor in the juggling of nanosuit abilities and constant micromanagment of energy, s*** gets pretty crazy.

This isn't even mentioning the more traditional stuff like weapon customization and perks, which also add depth to an already deep and challenging multiplayer. Personally I would say yes - this is definitly one of the more interesting and complex FPS multiplayers to come out recently. People are really selling it short, but then again, that's to be expected when it hands them their ass :)

I don't think there has been much of a challenge towards Crysis 2 when you speak of the 'Challenging and Deep' term.

Since COD 4 every FPS has tried to dumb it down to that level of accesibility and all you've seen are cookie cutters.

Halo is more difficult than COD but still doesn't require any deep strategy.

Crysis isn't so much deep and challenging but different from what we are used to. It is still nothing more at it's core than 1. See enemy 2. Shoot enemy . No matter how much you dress it up.

That is complete and utter BS. The nanosuit throws that theory right out the window. Try ignoring the nanosuit and just run around shooting people like in CoD, as you say. See how well you do.

Quoted for truth. I'm really liking Crysis 2 multiplayer, but BC2 has been the most enjoyable FPS multiplayer experience for me recently.

^^ I agree, BC2 multi is very deep, crysis 2? maps are teeny tiny, no vehicles, only a couple guns, that are basically the same, if not worse than the other, so basically people only use certain guns, BC2 each weapon is not good or bad, it all depends on you, and TC for your explaination for the killstreaks its anti camper free? i call BS, there is a perk that collects them for you lol, so please dont come on hear and try and say crysis 2 multi is the best, in a long time, mabye to YOU it is, but personally BC2 slapped this game upside the head with the ugly stick. Its fun dont get me wrong but, id rather go BC2.
Thank goodness. One less little 12 year old, racism yelling, 50 cent singing, G wannabe little punk online-Kamekazi_69

TC, if you think this multiplayer is at all deep or complex I highly recommend playing the Killzone series, you would like them. Killzone has some of the most unique, interesting, and complex class based (true classes, none of this Loadout BS that CoD and Crysis try to pass off as classes) gameplay in the entire genre.
KZ3 is the most goon filled game in multiplayer history. Everybody is either invisible, disguised as a teammate, or being escorted by a robo-bodyguard FerdMertz

I love how this game defends KZ3 and his sig says otherwise. KZ3 ain't that great. BFBC2 is a totally different game than Crysis 2. You guys are comparing apples to oranges. I like BFBC2, it's the best multiplayer game at what it does. But that doesn't mean I don't wanna play other types of shooters, because it does get old. Heck, I recently sold it.
