Battlefield is unlike most other shooters out there on the 360 right now. Many of you may have tried the series for the first time and are very confused or don't understand the game. Hopefully this will clear some things up for you. If you have never played a previous Battlefield title, you are required to watch this video. *Profanity Warning* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p4fkH9qC4M Now that you've watched that, here are some FAQs you might have on your mind. How do you spot enemies? Hover your crosshairs over an enemy and press the back button (the "select" button of the 360 controller). A red dot will appear over their head that your whole team can see as long as a line of sight is maintained. What is bullet drop and travel time? Bullet drop means you have to aim above enemies at long distances because gravity pulls the bullet down the farther it goes. Travel time means you have to aim ahead of targets because it takes time for the bullet to get from your rifle to the target. What’s the deal with Dr. Pepper? There are four different types of codes you can get. Each one unlocks a different skin for a kit. (one each). The DLC won’t be available till March 18th. What does the Engineer's drill do? Repairs friendly vehicles and destroys enemy vehicles when you hold it down. What’s with these dog tags? You get one whenever you knife someone. You can go back and look at all of them in your stats. Different colored ones represent the rank of the player you knifed. Why do the servers suck EA underestimated this game and didn’t give it enough server space. This uses dedicated servers, unlike MW2 where someone’s Xbox 360 is the host. It will take some time for EA to buy more server space or convert server space for BC2. This has happened with every Battlefield game on the 360 so far. It always gets better. How do I shoot the machine guns/rockets with the UAV and other vehicles? With the default controls, the right bumper will fire the alternate weapon of a vehicle. You must have the alternate fire specialization equipped to fire the alternate weapon. Turn this on by finding it all the way to the right on the class customization menu when you spawn and navigating to it. After you turn this on, you can fire guided rockets with the light tank, machine gun fire with the heavy tanks, and machine gun fire with the UAV by pressing the right bumper. How Do I Get Veteran Status? (The WW2 weapons?) To get veteran status, you must go to www.veteran.battlefield.com and register at least two of those games. You must then link your EA account (Veteran's account) to your Xbox 360 gamertag on the EA website. Then go to http://badcompany2.ea.com/#/Home. It will ask you to pick a default persona, choose the Xbox live account you linked to Battlefield Veterans. The guns should unlock next time you log in to Bad Company 2. Are There Any Flyable Jets in BC2? No. You can call in airstrikes and all that, but you can't fly them. Will This Have Any Splitscreen Action? No. Can You Go Prone? No. Why Not Because it would encourage even more people to be useless recon players, make them near invisible, change the gameplay entirely (everyone would go prone at the first sign of shooting and slow it down a lot) etc. Can I Ever Get the Limited Edition Unlocks If I Don't Buy That One? Yes and no. As of now, the VIP content can only be obtained with the VIP code. You can’t buy the first map pack. But you will unlock the specializations that come with it as you progress normally. Does the Type 88 Kill in One Headshot? No Don't Post Yet binga |
What's the Tracer Dart Do? You shoot it at any vehicle (it has no bullet drop) and it will stick on. Zoom in with an RPG or other handheld launcher and you will see a yellow square around the vehicle. Aim at the vehicle until you see a distance counter near the square. This means you are locked on, now when you shoot the rocket it will home in on the vehicle. Can You Destroy Whole Buildings? How? What Happens to the M-COM? Yes, you have to blow them up until they collapse. There is no physics for this, once enough walls are blown out it will collapse. Doing this will kill everything, including the M-COM inside. What's this Pokeball with the Recon Class? A motion sensor. You throw it and it will detect enemies on your mini map, but it will NOT spot them. Do I Keep My Uniform If I Switch Kits? Yes. Only the gun changes. You will keep you ghillie suit if you pick up a new gun. Where Do I See My Health? You don't. You just have to guess based on the bloody screen. Note: Your health is not completely refilled when the blood goes away. Medkits work much faster than waiting. Does Being Revived Refund Your Ticket? Yes. What Other Game Modes Will Be in The Retail Version? Conquest, where there are multiple command center/flags around the map. Each flag can be captured be another team, except for certain flags that are home bases, by driving enemies away from it and staying close until your team has captured it. Once a flag is captured, it acts as a spawn point. Each team also has tickets, a number which decreases for each time a player dies. As of now, tickets do not drain when your team has less flags than the other. Fun fact: Being revived by a medic refunds the ticket when you die. Rush, Two sides: Attackers Must get to the M-Com stations and destroy them in any way possible. Ways include arming the crate and preventing it from being defused by the enemy until it detonates, collapsing the building around the crate, or destroying the crate with explosives. The attackers have 75 tickets, or respawns, to get the job done. Once they destroy two crates (a base), and the next base with the next two crates opens up, their tickets reset to 75. Defenders Have infinite respawns and must defend the crates from the attackers. (Sitting on a hill taking potshots at the defenders as Recon will not benefit your team. Spotting enemies with recon will benefit your team, but not as much as being down in the action destroying crates. Moral of the story: only snipe when necessary when you are an attacker). Squad Rush: Rush, but with only 8 players. One squad of defenders, one squad of attackers. Squad Deathmatch: Four squads compete against each other to get to the kill limit before any other. There is usually one light tank or other vehicle in the middle, which will be fought over. Does this game pick up from Bad Company 1? No. They have the same characters, but the game acts much like the story of BC1 never happened. What's HardCore Mode? No spotting, less HUD items, ramped up bullet damage, no weapon display (ADS aiming only), no health regen, no weapon display (ammo counter etc), increased spawn delay, friendly fire. This is a different playlist online. Don't Post binga |
How do I fly the helicopter!? Credit to Darksiege http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=957916&topic=53285386 First off, the Basic Controls. RT: When leveled, this will cause the helicopter rise in elevation. This also serves as accelerating the helicopter when it is tilted forward as well accelerating backward while it is tilted backwards. LT: This button is mainly used to decrease the elevation of the helicopter as well as helping slow down forward momentum when tilting the helicopter backwards. LB/RB: Your main arsenal as a pilot which controls shots of multiple rockets (LB) and one single rocket (RB) which is much stronger (Note: for the single rocket, you must unlock the secondary weapon perk) RS: This will be the basis of all the movement as you fly the helicopter. It controls two functions which are 1)tilting the nose of the helicopter down and up and 2)controlling the tail rotor. Forward tilt (^ on the joystick): When pushing the RS forward, it cause the helicopters nose to tilt downwards. Doing so will make the helicopter go forward. The more tilt you put, the faster you will go. Doing this however will cause you too lose control faster. So if you want to go faster, keeping the nose down at a decent angle and holding the RT button will have the same affect. Backward tilt (v):When pushing down on the RS, this will cause the helicopters nose to tilt upwards. Doing this make you virtually "reverse" or go backwards from which you were originally going. As going forward though, tilting the nose up at too much of angle will cause you to lose control very quick. There will be two main reasons to do this though. 1) slow down your forward movement to make it easier to land and 2) evasive maneuvers from RPGs and such. Tail Rotor Control (< or >): When either pushing the RS left or right, it moves the tail rotor in the other direction. This basically turns the helicopter around without moving (if you are floating and are not moving). Combining this with forward tilt, it pretty much is like driving a car and turning. LS: The main function you will use this is for sideward movement. Pushing the left or right of the LS causes the helicopter to slide either to the left or right while still maintaining a "forward position." This is very helpful for maneuvers to get a good shot on a tank, evade RPGs, and positioning better for your gunner Don't Post Yet binga |
What happened in Bad Company 1? *GIGANITC, MASSIVE, RAW SPOILERS* We find our hero, Preston Marlow, taking a joyride in a helicopter. Instead of facing court martial, he is given the option of being transferred to Bravo Company aka "Bad" Company. Bad Company is where all the screw ups of the army go to be on the front lines and get the dirty work done. Think Dirty Jobs for the army. The Squad: Preston Marlow: Average guy, not much weird about him. He's the new guy. Sweetwater: Doesn't like violence. He uploaded a virus onto the military network, maybe by accident, to get into B Company. He's just here because the recruiter promised him scholarship money. Haggard: Redneck demolition man. He's the funny guy, loves explosions. He destroyed one of the Military's largest ammo dumps and was sent to B Company as punishment. Redford: A good soldier, and probably the only responsible one. He volunteered for Bad Company in order to have his tour cut short because he wants to get out of the war and go fishing. --- On a mission, the squad discoveries that they are fighting Legionnaire mercenaries instead of traditional Russian forces. They recognize that they are paid only in pure gold, and discover a gold nugget on the body of a mercenary. The squad discovers a truck with the Legionnaire symbol on a later mission and decides to follow it, suspecting a truckload of gold. On the way of following it, the truck crosses a border into a neutral country; Serdaristan. Haggard follows it in regardless, single handedly invading the country. After the ensuing firefight, Redford is informed that he may be facing court martial for the actions of Haggard and that there's no way he's going home to fish anytime soon. In response, the group decides they have nothing left to lose and decide to further pursue the gold into the country. Just when they're about to find the Gold, the US military shows up and arrests the squad. Much to B Company's surprise, the US military decides to put the men back into neutral Serdaristan because they had been suspecting it of collaboration with the enemy. But, the men are under the cover of being "awol" and if they are caught, they have no official connection to the US Military. On the way in, “neutral” Serdaristan shoots down a US chopper and the squad discovers that the president of the country (Serdar) is in debt to the leader of the Legionnaire, who has seized Serdar's army. The group take the presidents golden helicopter to further pursue the Gold, but are shot down by the Legionnaire flagship helicopter on the way. Preston awakes to discover that Haggard, Sweetwater, Redford, and the president have been captured. He fights his way to a monastery under the direction of his radio adviser, the lovely Mike 1 Juliet, (Whom Sweetwater is in love with, but has never seen. According to Haggard, women may have sweet voices but ugly faces, just like that cousin he dated a couple years back) where they are being held and rescues them. They later rescue President Serdar from being executed by the Legionnaire. The squad discovers that the gold is on a ship somewhere and somehow get close to it, leaving the president on an island on the way. The US army and Russian armies converge at their location, and the squad dodges in between the front lines to get to the gold and in the process destroy the helicopter that shot them down, which is piloted by the leader of Legionnaire. The squad returns from their fight to find the gold, but the US Military had gotten there too. At first discouraged, the squad is then asked by an officer who mistakes them for ordinary US soldiers to drive a flatbed truck full of "..ehhh... scrap metal". (It's the gold). The squad then sneaks the truck off into the sunset as the credits roll down the screen. The leader of Legionnaire is shown struggling to his feet in the ruins of his helicopter. binga |
