Steering Dead Zone - 20
Accelerator Dead Zone - 5
Brake Dead Zone - 5
Steering Sensitivity - 65
Accelerator Sensitivity - 100
Brake Sensitivity - 100
Speed Steering Sensitivity - 100

Steering Dead Zone - 20
The steering wheel will not re-center on it's own with 15 and lower. Lowering the dead zone to it's absolute minimum without sacrificing the wheels ability to re-center on allows greater range of motion.

Accelerator Dead Zone - 5
Dropping to zero sometimes caused my accelerator to be activated without me pushing the trigger.
Five seemed to be enough dead zone to eliminate that from happening. Minimizing the dead zone allows greater range of motion.

Brake Dead Zone - 5
I didn't have the same issues with the brakes as I did with the accelerator, but I made the dead zone the same as the accelerator for obvious reasons. Again, minimizing dead zone allows for greater range of motion.

Steering Sensitivity - 65
I found the default of 25 way too soft, which caused me to use too much stick. This in turn caused a lot of snappy handling. The opposite affect of what was intended for the default. 100 was too sensitive and caused nothing but extreme turns in either direction. At 65, I was able to keep steering response high without being uncontrollable.

Acceleration Sensitivity - 100
This took away the drive-by-wire affect and made the throttle feel more direct like a cable-driven throttle. If you don't understand why this is good, just know that you get a 1-to-1 ratio from trigger to throttle output.

Brake Sensitivity - 100
Same reason as acceleration. 1-to-1 ratio between trigger and brake output.

Speed Steering Sensitivity - 100
I haven't played with this, but it seemed to make sense to leave this at 100%. This setting causes the steering to be softened at higher speeds. You wouldn't want too much sensitivity at higher speeds because you could easily upset the car and lose control. 100% means it is applying 100% of the softening affect. I'll play with this setting on a long stretch of track to see if I need to lessen it's affect.

These settings returned greater response all around. Steering, gas, and brakes feel more direct.
I don't suspect this scheme will cause too much trouble other than the steering sensitivity. You may need to run a few laps in your favorite vehicle before you get used to it.
I have tested this setup with my Tier 1.5, 2.5, and GameStop pre-order M3 with excellent results.

Thanks for sharing. I'll try these out tomorrow.

lol Thought you disliked this game?
It is remarkable how similar the pattern of love is to the pattern of insanity.

Who? Me? I've never said anything bad about it, I love it so far. You either have me mistaken with someone else or took something i said the wrong way.

He meant slade, not utorde. I guess slade is trying to make the best of a the situation. Or maybe the game is growing on him.

I don't think the game lives up to it's hype. Since buying it, I've read reviews that reflect my thoughts on the game (Eurogamer review for example). Do I still think GRID is a better game? Yes. But I paid good money to just upright stop playing. Does that make my settings any less valid?

That aside, these settings have helped me overcome the numb controls attributed with the stock settings. If these settings help others enjoy the game more, then I've done my job.

There is obviously a need for tweaked controls or there wouldn't be SilentLine04's (among others) that continue to garner interest.

No, it doesn't make your settings or even your opinions any less valid.

As for living up to the hype, I've said flat out I would not recommend this game to people before playing. It is not for everyone.

Thanks for these settings. I hope they make those pesky T3 and T4 cars more manageable. Brrr, I HATE the Veyron Invitational :D

I will give these a try and let everyone know my opinions (currently using Silent Line's settings with xbox controllor).

Anyone compare these settings with Silent Lines? Any thoughts?

I am like Slade in that I feel a bit bamboozled with this game based on the overly positive reviews.

I did the duel race with the Ford Gt and Viper and have thoughts of trading this game in after seeing the AI behavior and the way the tier 3 cars handle.

I think there is a mediocre-to-good game here but I am going to have to be REALLY patient to find it.

Thanks for posting this. So far, I am liking these settings a lot. The throttle feels especially good at 100%. Also, I think I went the wrong direction on the steering, I had set it down to 0%, but your setting of 65 is feeling pretty good (after taking a bit of time to get used to it).
