Response from NISA on the DLC error message

Dear (my name),

Thank you for your patience.
After thorough investigation, we have found out that this error message was
somehow misplaced. This message was supposed to show up when you have an
additional character in your save data, but you don't have any DLC data on
your Memory Stick. However, once you install DLC data on your Memory Stick,
it will no longer appear.
Our research also found out that this message doesn't affect the gameplay
experience, except distress it may cause.
To compensate for the distress and confusion, we are going to launch the
first DLC for this title, Safire(I think they meant Sapphire), for free of charge. We are planning to
launch the first DLC on 11/25/2009.
We will also post a more detailed announcement regarding this issue.

Sweet DLC but wait Iam a bit confuse now does that mean even after I get the message I can save the game and still be able to use DLC?

Awesome. And yes, that means it's safe to play. No need to hold back on playing my Disgaea 2 game now!! I look forward to the DLC as well. :) :)

And yep, it fortunately is what I expected the message to mean, even if it was vague. A warning if your save data had a DLC character saved on it, but you happened to play it on a memory card with no DLC data downloaded.

(Since the save game would look for that saved character, but find out that the data is missing, the DLC character would be removed from your game, and saving the game, afterwards, would remove the DLC character from your save. Kind of like what happens if you play any game with DLC files and you somehow deleted them before playing them from a save with which you already use the DLC content from them.)
