What do you guys think of it? Technically, Mario Kart 7 doesn't have boats so it's not a total copy. But if it's like the original SaSASR with better character tiers and more car/track themes, I'll like it a lot.

I want daytona 2, scud race, sega rally 1 or 2.

Especially when reading this.

- gunning for 30fps since water physics rules out 60fps

The eurogamer preview and others that I have read are saying that the framerate has issues at the moment.

Sounds like the same scenario again where they are cramming in loads of content and the game engine is going to suffer to display things like water physics and lighting effects.

Why cant they make games the way that sega do. F zero GX game from 2001 looks better than sonic all stars racing and is solid 60fps arcade quality.

Cmon AM port team give us one of your 60fps arcade perfect gems.

Sumo Digital seems to always struggle somewhat unless it's a porting job (Which seems to be their strength).

So I'll just be happy if it's a solid game like the original was. Some of the stuff they've built from start to finish have been pretty poor.

Not really ready for another kart game at this time, so I'll be waiting until it hits the bargain bins.

Can't believe there's so many doubters. It looks like Mario Kart but with the high-octane Sega racer aspects infused into it. It isn't Daytona or OutRun but I would rather another Sonic & Sega Racing than nothing at all. If this game is successful, it'll greatly help out Sega and probably pave the way for more racing games. 30 FPS is my biggest concern about the game right now, I understand.

At least the EuroGamer article infuses me with some confidence since Sumo knows the dire circumstances of this pathetic arcade racing genre. And frankly, if Sega isn't going to make an arcade racer, then Sumo's one of the few studios I trust to live up to the task.

Hey guys, I'll be posting the Sonic & All-Stars Racing 2 Boards as well. So check it out if you're bored and want to talk about the game too (even if you don't like it).

I'll like it I'm sure.

It's just not anywhere close to the top of my list of projects I'd rather see them do.

What else could Sumo Digital do at the moment? Clearly Sega/AM2 has very little initiative to bring home any arcade racers, much less make one at all. Plus, it's emphasizes Sega's glorious, colorful history...something that not many gamers know of anymore.
