After inhaling Dark Fawful, it was Mario's turn. Okay, makes sense. Mario's speed is usually high enough to go first. Then it was Luigi's turn. Okay, so Luigi also has a higher speed stat. Then....it was Mario's turn again! I was able to take advantage of this to take out the appendages and reveal the Dark Star Core without Dark Fawful ever getting a chance to attack.

I was using only Mighty Meteor when attacking the appendages. Is it possible that I made Dark Fawful dizzy, and the game did not indicate it? I know Mighty Meteor has a chance to lower attack, but as far as I am aware, only the Magic Window and hammer solo attacks are capable of making enemies dizzy.
