I usually like the offensive tank characters, but I do want a little flexibility. I know nothing about what different kinds of techniques there are or if they're even useful.

Also, does anyone even play this game still? Kinda looks like it died a few years ago.
You may feel like a poet, but you sound like an idiot.

You'd probably like a HUcast or HUcaseal then. They're highly offensive and can take hits pretty well; HUcast is probably preferable if you're looking to min/max stats, since his stats are higher in the relevant areas than HUcaseal. HUnewearl is my favorite class for being a flexible "jack-of-all-trades" with ludicrously high evasion, but she can be pretty challenging to get into using earlier on since her attack power is the lowest of the Hunters, although her self-support is second to none as a Hunter.

The board died about when Nintendo discontinued its Wifi services for the DS and Wii. No one who plays legitimately can get online anymore.

Having said that, the online missions were identical to the local multiplayer missions, so if you can get someone locally who's got a DS and willing to play, you'll have access to 100% of the content.

I have 2 3DSs with 2 copies of the game.

Game#1: 100LV HUcast, 91LV FOmarl, 85LV RAmarl

Game#2: 66LV HUnewearl, 60FOnewm, 57LV RAcast

You have 3 slots for 3 characters so try each class. :)

CASTS:
Pros - HP Regen, Immune to Poison, Can see traps without us of Trap Search, Can set their own traps.

Cons - Max Material use is 80pts, Cannot use techniques even though they have a MST stat (However this can be somewhat compensated by using a Wand type weapon with the PA "Art Trick")

NEWMANS:
Pros - PP Regen

Cons - Max Material use is 80pts, Not mentioned much, but this race do not have the worst versatility when it comes to using weapons outside their respective classes. Particularly ranged weaponry. Some folks do not consider this much of an issue.

HUMANS:
Pros - Max Material use is 100pts, Not mentioned much, but this race great weapons selections to choose from outside their respective classes. For ex// FOmars and FOmarls though their primary strengths are nuking with techniques, its fun to be able to bust out a Blue Bulleta mech gun or Armburst bazooka and change things up a bit. LoL Again some folks do not see this to much of an advantage.

Cons - No special innate abilities that this race possesses.

HUNTERS - They are close combat specialists. They take the most damage, and can dish out the most damage as well. HUmars, HUmarls, HUnewm, and HUnewearls can use Foie, Barta, Zonde, Shifta, and Deband techniques up to level 10.

RANGERS - Are range weapon experts. This class excels at accuracy. Not as strong as Hunters, but they will hit what they aim for with any gun, and even with melee weapons. RAmars, and RAmarls can use Foie, Barta, Zonde, Jellen, and Zalure techniques up to level 10.

FORCES - The technique masters. This class has the bests mental strength of the other classes. This class can use and attain the level 15 mastery in all techniques. However they are the physically weakest all across the board. Difficult class from the start, but at uber levels can potential be the most offensively potent. If you find yourself having to melee with this class, it highly recommended you have Zalure ready to cast on enemies on a pallet or you will see a lot of misses! :D

I figure it's worth mentioning that the value regenerated by CASTs and Newmen by their respective racial HP/PP Regen is either 5% of their max HP/PP while you have not moved since the last regeneration occurance (once every 5 seconds), or 1% of their max HP/PP if they have moved since the last time regeneration occured. This value is rounded up (at 1%) when the last two digits of their HP/PP reaches between 65-67 (seems to vary; my HUnewearl needed 765 PP to receive 8 PP per proc).

I shall keep that in mind. :D
