No, Famitsu just rates games too highly. Sonic '06 got a 30/40; they're like a Japanese Play. Either that, or they just happen to think it's good and people think there must be a problem. For some reason, the second reason makes more sense.
You're not listening Power C. They gave Sonic 06 a 30/40. Famitsu generally rates games higher than they should. I'd say they were like a Japanese Play, if Play Magazine didn't already have a Japanese division. But yeah. Famitsu is basically a corporate puppet./whore.

Famitsu tends to ignore stuff like technical problems, long load times, clumsy menus and some obvious, but very irritating design flaws (like a game that encourages replaying, or dying a lot, but doesn't allow you to skip cutscenes).
