Any reason why (Aside from I touch myself) that my experience in this game has not been the same as anything I have been reading so yes I'm going to question this, anyone would when something like this happens:

When I played this I was stuck going from point A to Point B, there was no free roaming for me, Couldn't go outside of mission parameter if I did the mission failed.

Grappling Hook:
When I used the the grappling hook it stuck to most surfaces, not all of them, I don't want to make it sound like this ability ios broken or anything but I have shot the grappling hook at the middle of a wall and all it did was bounce off, and for the record this is the only time this has happened is on some walls (And of course water) but that's just silly

I tried leaving the mission alone because there is no other free roam that I could locate and it failed me and I had to start all over again.

What's going on here, did I not play long enough or get some upgrade that I need? Am I missing something? Am I being too impatient?

All I know is that above situation gets highly annoying, when I see people saying and talking about things they did, I have yet to see and be able to do.

This type of situation totally makes a player lose all motivation for playing. Which is why I un-installed it and have not touched it since. The Grappling hook issue ok that's not that major, but the free roam issue...That's where I drawn the line.

The game either has free roam or it doesn't there is no boundaries or standards set on free roam, if it is saying it's free roam then this is what you are supposed to be able to do:

Launch the game, go free roam right off the bat and at the start. If you get stuck going from point A to B with no free roam, then that just contradicts free roam.

So in short I'm saying, you don't say something is free roam then place restrictions on it with all these exceptions. It's either free roam or it's not. That just doesn't make any sense at all and I think anyone else understands why that doesn't make sense as well.

You have to complete the first couple of missions before you can roam free as you please. Once you've done the memory card retrieval and Casino rescue missions, what path you take is up to you.

As for the grapple, the only time I have trouble is when I'm paragliding and try to fire it off to the slide. If you fire it at a solid surface, it should stick.

Ok so I just didn't play it long enough.... That is ridiculous how they say it's free roam and then do not tell you this.. I was under the impression that this was free roam right off the bat like it advertises.

As for the grappling hook, I can go either way on that but I actually was not able to latch on to some walls...But that's no big deal.

the reason you cant free roam at the start is to set the story. they dont need to advertist that

if you fail to hook a wall, try again. its happened to me before, usually when im falling or mid air. every time ive tried again its worked

This is a good post illustrating the ridiculous impatience of today's youth, and the speed with which righteous indignation is the response.

^I was kind of thinking the same thing...
That's like getting mad at any GTA game for claiming "Free roam" or "Sandbox", and then shooting at you for crossing the map early in the game. ¬_¬

There's probably less than an hour of gameplay before you get to have free reign on the entire map. Unless you "obtained" the game, it's pretty sad to give up on a game you spent money on THAT fast. >_>

What kind of comparison is that? That's not even remotely close to being the same thing.

Therefore it's not free roam and I paid for Free Roam!

Explain how it isn't? You paid to roam freely, why can't you go to the other islands/parts of the city immediately? Hell, many of the GTA games actually require the exact same thing of having to do at least *one* mission before you can even wonder about. That's not free!
'-_-

Therefore it's not free roam and I paid for Free Roam!

Oh, so because you have to actually play for a minuscule amount of time doing TWO missions before you get 100% unrestrained access to the entire map to do with as you wish, it isn't free roam? Pity patience isn't common anymore...
