Hahah, yeah, the Series X I think it's called! But no joke man, on the 1X it really is a new game. The regular Xbone really has a few improvements too, but not a lot. Personally I've had NGII slow down to a crawl in numerous fights and there were 4 chests I could not open as they would always crash my game.

Mostly hearsay and also something I've personally noticed. Kind of how that update of PS3 screwed up NGS's enemies.
The first sigma? What happened there?

One of the patches for the core PS3 upped enemy agression somehow, it's really scary to see. There was a documentation on it back on the NGrealm eons back. I think it screwed up their attack queue somehow. I never played enough NGS myself in the early days to notice, I always played the 'more agressive' version apparantly.

THe X version is hugely improved. Pretty much a full blown remaster. 360 version barely runs consistent 60.

I stand corrected! :)

Any idea where I can get more information on this? I’m wondering which update it was and when it took place, I haven’t updated my PS3‘s in such a long time, but I also didn’t play Sigma until it was out for a couple years. I’d really like to see some actual examples of this.

The only thing I could quickly find was this post by Julius, a known Karma runner of the series: http://ngrealm.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1788

There were other posts, also on classic Iberians iirc, but those were of course lost. Maybe you can send him a PM?

Yeah, I’m not buying just his opinion. His first post I mostly agree with, I’ve always greatly preferred NGB for various reasons, but some of the stuff he said I definitely never noticed before. Other people in the topic also said they didn’t notice his first point at all.

Then in his second long post he just goes off the deep end LOL. Things like that happen to everyone, when you just have so much about a game in your head and bits and pieces of those thoughts start coming out, but some of the suggestions were based solely on the idea of karma and it should be the opposite, you try to get karma within the confines of the game not have the game be designed around getting karma.

And realistically I just don’t see how a firmware update could affect something as specific as only the AI in the game. He also doesn’t help his believability when he starts off by saying that every single update increased it more and more, and then goes on to say that it affected every game he played. Statements made with that extremity are hard to swallow.

If it was just him, absolutely I would agree. But there was also a comparison video and other users talking about it nearly a decade ago. I just for the life of me cannot find the video, I think it may have been on Iberians as noted before but now I'm doubting. One of the things the patch screwed up iirc was enemies not entering ranged mode when another was in close-combat mode.

On the X, it surely does feel like a legit remaster. I do remember finding enemies more aggressive when I started playing again. Of course, it feels normal now. Only way to tell for sure would be to compare with a 360 (no access anymore).

A comparison video would certainly be ideal. If you do come across anything at any point just throw it out there, I’m always popping in. Obviously no need to stress about it though.

Yeah it's been something I've been wanting to find, but nobody I know seems to have it or be able to find it. I know a few that remember it at least but still sucks I cannot find it again.
