It's an in-game Challenge and also an Achievement.

How do you "gib"?

Thanks in advance.

Gib is when an enemy explodes into a bunch of little pieces. Not sure how you do it in this game.

Ah ok.

There are grenades, underbarrel grenades, and environmental items like fire extinguishers and oxygen tanks that explode.

Also, you can shoot the pods with the face-huggers in them and the pods explode. I'll see if I can shoot one with a hugger in it, and if that counts as gibbing.

Easiest way to get a gib is to use the Smart gun on an alien.

There's a section you get a smartgun. You'll get it then pretty much guaranteed.

A Gib has been an accepted term for blowing something up in a cloud of blood and guts pretty much since FPS games have existed, so if its called having a life I would suggest yours has been lived in ignorance.
