I'd argue that's because we came to a point where there are actual nazis in politics, but heh, guess that's not the place for that.
Godwin's law was made after the Nazis got into politics. Ad hominem is not a proper argument. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gU9op16rjQ
It's honestly to the point now that whenever i hear "X is a Nazi" I actually want to meet the person. If "X is controversial, but good" i know it's a particular side's propaganda. If i hear that a particular group of people hates content, i know the content is probably worth listening to. Welcome to the Streisand Effect, which happens especially when people know that hyperbole is in play, which the majority at this point understand. When a guy goes to jail over teaching his girlfriend's dog to lift it's paw to "sieg heil" and "gas the jews," you know that things are out of control, 'cause no dog is going to be putting people into concentration camps and gassing them. Tell people the guy has a youtube channel, they want to hear more. Tell them he plays pranks like a regular youtuber and even does small videos on history with his own flair, people really want to see it.
There are lots of porn games out there, and then comes "toxic masuclinity perpetuating" huniepop, which we're finding women playing as much as men (i've actually had men tell me their girlfriends played it more). What happened when people heard you could "tie a femminist to train tracks in red dead 2"? Of course everyone was checking this out on youtube. Players getting banned from Blizzard tournaments for "the OK symbol" and watch the boycotts. Hyperbole is where you can destroy your own message fast.
Use the @ symbol, else i probably won't see it, 'cause i don't track every thread on a lively board.
People that bring up godwins law and ad hominem are obviously just natsiz just like godwin himself! :P Also gaslighting doesn't exist, - stop pretending to make yourself believe what I pretend is what you are not supposed to believe!

Shhh, stop revealing open secrets! The rubberband won't work properly if they don't pull back far enough. ;)
...but XV is, at worst, an average game. Maybe an "average" game isn't up to the standard set by the series' peak, but still: calling it one of the worst games ever means you haven't played many games. I'd argue it's neither the worst game in the series (II and XIII, at least; there's a few more I'd argue for, as well), nor even the worst JRPG this generation (Star Ocean 5 and Tales of Zestiria are worse, bare minimum; I'm sure someone can name more).
Also, FFVIIR looks fun, but still a waste. We should be getting FFXVI instead, not cashing in on nostalgia, which is all Squeenix knows how to do anymore.
The thing you gotta understand is that FFVII was bigger than Final Fantasy itself. I don't think even Square could have ever imagined just how impactful that game had become.
I mean, the characters are so freaking perfect and iconic it would be like making a Zelda game without Link. That's why FFVII is bigger than a FFXVI even. For over 20 years, and Square has not come up with a better design than the cast of FFVII. Came close with Squall, but he's pretty much just a Cloud with brown hair.
