I don't think any of these are particularly great, but XIII-2 had the most improvement from the first game, so it's the best sequel I guess

Difficult to say which is "best," but none of those I know (some I've not even watched videos of) even come close to the main game. Certainly not Dirge of Cerberus or especially Crisis Core.

Don't really like any of them, but... XIII-2 was the best, I suppose.

Meh, I liked the returning cast in Revenant Wings and some gameplay aspects in X-2, but hated everything else about them.

Final Fantasy sequels and prequels are godawful and they shouldn't exist in the first place.
In vainglory they arose, shouting challenges at the gods. But prevail they did not. Their doom it was to walk the Mist until Time's end.

FFX-2.

It was fun and enjoyable. Sure, it was fan service as heck, but it concluded the FFX story, had good music, and the battle system was fun.

13-2 and 13-3 were the worst no doubt because they were so unnecessary. 13 already closed off the story. There was nothing more to add. The sequels were forced nonsense.

X-2 is the only one I’ve played. I like it a lot, with the job system and best atb in the series, but at the end it’s basically just a game filled with mini games with the music going a very different direction.

Still fap worthy tho
Playing: FFVII - Nibelheim; Dragon Quest V - Some gambling after Coburg

FF4:TAY is (easily) the worst direct sequel to a main FF title. Ever.

FFX-2

It's Metacritic rating is 85, likely the highest rating in this list, and sold quite well since it's release with some 5 million copies so far (including remastered version). The game was fairly decent, though somewhat unnecessary continuation to the masterpiece that is X that ends of decent note. I'm skeptical of an how a X-3 is even needed to continue the story, and I feel it's just gonna ruin things even further.

Lightning Returns had some interesting moments and felt like a sole player character Tales game mashed with X-2's dresspheres. Was still a forgettable exprience for me in the end.
Completed Final Fantasy... VI, VII, VIII, X, X-2, XII, XIII, XIII-3, Type-0
Now Playing... NONE
