Options:
A) Right click the game in your Steam library, select Properties, click "Set Launch Options", and add " -DX9" to the box, without quotes.

B) Browse to your Steam\steamapps\common\crysis\bin32 folder, right-click your Crysis.exe and select "Create Shortcut". Right-click the newly created shortcut, click Properties, under the shortcut tab you'll see a "Target" box; Add the -DX9 command to the end of that. Ie:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -DX9

Either way should work with the Steam version. To insure it's worked properly, while running the game press the Tilde ("~") key to bring up the console and type: "r_displayinfo 1" in, without the quotes. The console info should show if you're running in DX9 or DX10.
