I'm actually in Japan now and I got a chance to play HL2 Survivor. It's super fun even though I can't read the menus at all. Going to be playing it a lot more while I'm out here. My biggest complaint thus far is that I've only played one multiplayer map. Not sure if there are more than that, but I only ever see people playing on that one same map.

it's really strange. iirc, you control movement with a joystick of sorts on the left hand and the right hand controls aiming with a joystick that acts like a mouse, but isn't anywhere near as responsive or intuitive. you jump and crouch with foot pedals. i found it incredibly difficult to play, but my love of half-life kept me going.
You've got a lot to learn before you beat me. Try again, kiddo.

yeah, it was originally about 2 dollars i think, but the price dropped over time. i think i paid 50 cents a play the last time i played. you pay by the level, more or less. DM goes by 2 rounds or something, and SP was broken up into levels. you could buy a card to keep track of progress.

that's how lacking the pc market in japan really is. they have most of the good pc games. it's just that most people don't buy them.
