Sure, it is mainly the JP side, I don't know if this will effect the US, but if so, this means for Spelunker, the Spelunker spaces, R-Type and a few other games. The Spelunker games aren't listed, but they ARE Irem. They might be put up by another person, but were developed just by them, I don't know.

Between the Japanese disaster and now, Irem has canceled their high budget game, Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4 for the PS3. They have closed their development on Bumpy Trot 2, they have shut down their online store. They have lost the original creator of the ZZT and BT franchises, and their last one or two PSP games sold terribly. Sad to say, it seems like Irem is closing shop for good. :(

That's too bad. R-type will always be my favorite shooter series, specifically R-type Final and R-type Leo.

lmao Nero's obviously a casual gamer.

Sad news to hear, I still own R-Type for my Master System and was always a fan of the series. They've been around for such a long time. It's sad to know how this generation is killing off a lot of the originators of 8/16-bit gaming, to be replaced by worthless FPS after worthless FPS. This generation of gaming was sadly, completely owned by the casual gamer. RIP Irem.

That is terrible. More and more smaller companies won't survive at this rate.

Dammit, and here I thought TC ruined my day. haha From the looks of it, seems more like Irem had a falling out with Sony and doesn't want to continue supporting them, rather than calling it quits.

Pretty much. Irem was one of the last few hopes I had for my niche gaming fix. Now I only have a few studios left that I can count on that haven't either gone mainstream or folded yet.

No kidding....however, they did still close down their online store. That concerns me. I wonder if this move was truly because Sony blocked them from releasing ZZT4?.... Maybe? Anywho, I don't think they can live off of Pachipara. =/....
