Some close friends convinced me to play a few friendly matches for nostalgia's sake and have clued me in on a few of the changes so I'm good as far as that is concerned. And we're using an online battle simulator of sorts so I don't have to really train them.

But yeah, I'm not too competitive and thankfully neither are they, teams aren't going to be minmaxed tournament roflstompers though we will be using max level/IVs. But and now here comes my question, can destiny bond and healing wish work together? I've got a Gardevoir that's a special sweeper but with some special defense EVs thrown in. I figure start with destiny bond, do a bit of hard hitting and then should things get hairy have her pull a healing wish.

Destiny Bond lasts until you make your next move.

I'm pretty sure destiny bond only works that same turn that you use it.... I could be wrong though. in theory it should work, considering healing wish kicks in after the pokemon has fainted...
sometimes I think I know too much...

Better stated that it works until the next move.

Oh wait, so healing wish is active until faint and destiny bond is on the turn? Hmm, I figured it was the other way around but that's rather interesting. So it should end up like this:
Healing Wish -> Battle proceeds as normal -> Gardevoir's HP is low, destiny bond -> Take opponent's pokemon with me and use healing.

Correct?

Healing Wish kills you, outright. Destiny Bond's effect lasts until your next move (whether you do anything or not).

Where are you getting these weird ideas of how moves work?

I want to say Marriland, but that would just be to make fun of marriland and not an actual answer.

Likely ingame desc's being lol.

Due to the way that was worded I assumed healing wish was sort of like a latent buff when used and that upon the pokemon fainting it took effect

Likely ingame desc's being lol.
Which is why I made this topic. :P
