Graphics were very nice, smooth, well animated, colorful, lot of detail. I wish the backgrounds were more than a static screen though. Very unique enemy design. Level design was varied within each level and when compared to one another.

Audio was mostly great with the CD music and other than getting a little repetitive, the sound effects were good.

I didn't really care for the controls. They were simple enough, but a couple things really bugged me. You can't shoot in mid-air, which really feels like a sever handicap. It's far too easy to run straight off a ledge rather than jump at the edge. It always amazes me when games get this wrong. The knockback/stun when taking damage seemed overly punishing at times as well.

The gameplay is 2D platformer-shooter with a few different sprinkles thrown in. There's a race level which was fine once, but after it repeats about 5 more times it's just irritating. The mini-sub was very interesting once you got a feel for the controls. The bungee-jump was pretty stupid. Some of the bosses were a bit on the unfun side as were the last couple levels. Some of the enemy locations were rather cheap and the platforming was asking a bit much from the limited controls.

I'm not sure what the story was since there weren't any cutscenes until the end and I don't have the manual.

It's worth picking up due to it's wacky and unique design, but be prepared for a tough one that might put you in an old-school controller-throwing mood.

I forgot, I wanted to mention I also thought the dog-escort level was pretty terrible.
