In Gothic II Night of the Raven Nefarius, the water mage gave me a map to find the three fragments of ring ornament which is need for opening the portal of another world. According to map I have gonein to big wood of the eastaccompanied by Lares to find the one of the ring frament. There is a cave whereI have found a wheel to open a gate. But whenIam going to activate the wheel, then it is shown he needs the right item. Could anybody tell me where I will found the ring fragment? Has it other side of the gate?

That cave has nothing to do with the ornament fragment, it's for a later side quest with Vino. You'll need molerat grease to get in, and then you pick up a journal, read it, and essentially complete his quest.

All of the three ornament pieces can be found in stone circles (they look a lot like miniature versions of Stone Henge). You press three buttons on the stone surfaces and a Stone Sentinel will spawn -- you kill it and take the ornament piece off of it.

Lares should be able to take you directly to the stone circle in the woods to the northeast of Khorinis. Eventually he'll stop right in front of it and tell you "Ok, are you ready?" or something like that. If for some reason he's not escorting you there, stand at the cave with the gate that you can't access. Facing directly away from it, navigate up the hill to your left and follow the path to the right, generally southward. Within a very short distance you should see the stone circle to the left of that path.

There are little buttons to push in on three of the pillars in the circle, they are tough to see sometimes.
