Wow, I remember when this board used to be full of life...

Anyways, I think I once played an earlier version of the mod long ago, but I forget. Anyways, this mod definitely made a huge difference when compared to the vanilla game. The HK factory was fun, the extra dialogue was excellent, and seeing your party members interact and actually knowing what happened to them on Malachor was great.

It's not perfect, but it achieved what it set out to do. The ending is still somewhat empty, which is especially disappointing because the game has excellent writing. Then again, this was supposed to be the middle of a trilogy, and it was a shame KOTOR 3 was canned...

Still, I can't help but wonder what the original intent for Malachor was, since it looked like we were able to take party members with us. Mandalore could actually be asked about Malachor like any other planet you asked him about, and I know this dialogue was used in the restoration mod when Mandalore escorts your party members after you chose to free them.

I'll never forgive LA for rushing Obsidian, and then denying their request to restore the content themselves.

Playing through it now after beating vanilla at least half a dozen times 10+ years ago and loving all the additions, especially the extra HK encounters.

Actually have HK done seemingly early and it's starting to fulfill that plot thread that was just dropped in vanilla.

It's also keeping me on my toes. The added encounters on Nar Shada (spelling) caught me off guard. Made sure to go through ensure each character has a functional setup going forward. I was kicking myself for certain disassembly choices. Don't want to get caught lime that again.

This game is one of those sad missed chances for gaming. What Obsidian put together in a ridiculously short development window just shows what a drop dead classic it could've been with another year in the oven.

On the bright side, the game we got is messy but it's still pretty damn good and the Restoration mods improve a lot of aspects. And it's one of my favorite stories, if not flat out my favorite story, in Star Wars.

Avellone should write a Star Wars movie. Kreia is one of the best written characters I've seen in an RPG and a number of others (Atris, Atton, Sion, etc.) aren't far behind.

This is without a doubt my favorite Star Wars game. The first KOTOR is second but there’s just something about this game. The themes, the messages, the characters. It’s such a gray game. The light and the dark here are not so clearly defined, and I love exploring that.

Wow l forgot I made this topic lol

Yeah I agree, I think I like the 2nd more than the 1st. I loved the lighthearted tone of the 1st game, but KOTOR 2 really excels at the shades of grey tone. Plus throughout the game it kept hinting at an impending war, which we probably would've seen come into fruition in 3.

Imagine Mandalore leading the restored Mandalorian clans, HK-47 leading an army of HK-51s, and possibly The Exile and a returning Revan with Bastila possibly leading the Jedi-trained party members of KOTOR II along with a new generation of Jedi into the final battle of the old Republic era in the 3rd game. f*** Lucas Arts.

I can't get the mod to install properly. I've used the one on Steam and the one on deadlystream.com, neither one seems to be working and I have no idea why. I've even watched youtube videos. Do the mods still work? Most of the things I've seen are from 2015.

I'm just starting TSLRCM (+M478) after not having played it since it came out on the Xbox years ago. I was able to just subscribe to the Mod via Steam and it installed flawlessly. Booted up and was met with the M4-78 splash screen, and then on the main screen with Darth Sion, it says "Restored Content Mod".
