Controller should be fine for now. REAL annoying but I think I've I got it figured. Explored past the fog and found these pretty cool zombie knight things. Almost killed one, but goofed and let it heal. My favorite part of this game is the monsters. It's too bad it doesn't have one of those beast log things. I'd love to read about them.

So I'm pretty good at killing these knight things now. I almost made it to what looks to be a boss or miniboss knight. He's in a room with a bunch of them unfortunately I got killed by a counterattack from a normal one before I could look at this other knight. Should have known better. I raised a gate to make a shortcut, but one of the hallow likes to close it when he sees me coming it's pretty annoying. Not sure what to do about it.

Are you playing patched? I think the patch fixed that as he's not supposed to go and close the gate over and over. Just the first time. Or, well, I think what the patch does is just make him not respawn anymore.

And yeah, the enemy design is a pretty strong part of the game. I'd say it comes close to matching Shadow Tower, and that was a game with a hell of a bestiary. It is indeed a shame there's not some sort of monster book like Shadow Tower had. :/

The best you can get is reading the info for some of their items.

So I got bored and decided to try out the knight class instead and got reasonably far. You can really rip through that starting area after you've played enough. I don't know if I'll keep going with the knight or the sorceror.

I did find that I completely missed a undead salesman the first time. :/ He has some pretty interesting stuff.

Oh you gotta try and be super thorough as you explore. Lotta stuff you could miss. Like, whole areas.

<_<

I did explore pretty much the entire area. I just missed one door way. Well, I think that's all I missed. ._.
So I decided to keep rolling with my sorcerer. I bought a full set of chain mail and a rapier. I like the rapier more than the normal swords as the swinging swords often hit the walls accidentally. Also bought the key to the house. Only found one item in it. I forgot to look at it before shutting the game off. I was sleepy. :/

Also I killed that special knight and got the fire keepers soul. That knight was real easy since he's really venerable after every swing. Didn't explore that area yet.

It's good you got that key. It'll especially pay off for your sorcerer. There's another sorcerer locked up, freed by that key. He'll be of great help. You haven't got to that part yet. Though you likely could take a detour there by now.

Are you playing with the patch?

I don't have my Xbox connected to the internet, but it patched from the disc. No idea how up to date that patch is.
The monster that closed the gate actually only did it once, but I assumed he'd do it again and kept rushing through the area.

I might have remembered an area I forgot to look at. I'll have to check when I play later.

Hm. When you've killed a boss, does it say "you defeated" or "victory achieved"?

If you kill skeletons in the graveyard of Firelink, do you get souls?

I've never killed one of those skeletons. >_> And I forget what it says. I'll probably have to hook it up and update. That'll be a pain.

So I found the sorceror you talked about and freed him. Also killed the bandits, and found the thief's gear. Stepped into the white fog and got completely destroyed by whatever boss that was. I had 3 humanity on me. :( Think I can take this boss? Or am I approaching this area too early?
