The world isn't getting worse. It's just easy to think it is, or the end is near. I'm not entirely sure why people do this, though.
I'm not sure there's even been a generation without somebody thinking the end is near. >_>
The state we're in now is one of super heightened awareness. What with the internet and all. Communication leads to over saturation of, well, reality. Think of it this way: imagine a person with a broken arm, but their pain receptors were somewhat numb. Then with time, the numbness departed, and on top of that they are gaining a hyper-sensitivity, making them all too aware of the injury. It can make it feel like it's getting worse, and yet the arm is healing - it's only the awareness of the problem that has intensified.
Nah just kidding we'll all be dead in the next 10 years.
