Hello folks, here's the spec of my old pc:

CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i7-4790K 4.0 GHz 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1150
FAN: Asetek 550LC 120mm Liquid Cooling CPU Cooler - Extreme Cooling Performance
HDD: 256GB SANDISK SSD + 1TB SATA III Hard Drive Combo
MOBO: GIGABYTE Z97X-SLI ATX w/ Intel GbLAN, 2 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 2 PCI, 1 x M.2, 1 x SATA Express, or 6x SATA 6Gb/s
PSU: 800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
GFX: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G 4GB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16

Had it for 4-5 years now and I'm getting an issue where the USB ports in the back of the PC won't recognize the devices when I plug it in. I know the devices work because I plug it into another PC and they work fine.

But now, as of today, it just won't turn on anymore... It worked fine this morning but then I was having the USB ports issue so I was uninstalling the device and restarting the PC so it'll fix it. It worked for a bit then it just died again. Now the PC won't even turn on. D:

I'm guessing this is a PSU issue... Or what else could be the problem?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks~

If its not powering on its usually a PSU issue but can also be a MOBO issue as well.

One step at a time. If you don't have diag software.

Try a different PSU
Same issue, mobo.

Could on the far end even maybe driver issues if it's just the ports acting up.

Trying a different PSU is not needed if you jump start the current one. If it doesn't turn on after doing so then its impermeably dead and have found the cause. If it does turn on then we can assume its the MOBO then.

So, update:

Turns out it's my MOBO that needs replacing. My PSU is fine but the back ports on the comp barely work. Only 2 out of the 6? do.

I am not sure if I should replace the mobo or get a new computer at this point.

probably PSU died. for the USB problem, AFAIK USB ports do wear out after a few years and become loose. or the contacts got corroded. i think you can replace them if they're not soldered to the motherboard? i don't recall.

or you just could buy a USB PCIe Expansion Card.
