Brave is a bitcoin miner. I wonder if that's why my battery usage on my phone with Brave is so high. Like 4 times more battery used by Brave then Chrome.

I use Avira anti-virus and Firefox with Adblocker-ultimate. When I'm looking at ahem, ::visual:: websites I'm in a private window. I also don't click on sketchier looking links. I've never had any problems.

In the past I used to love noScript but it is such a pain to be constantly enabling blocked scripts and it really doesn't play well with internet banking and the like so I uninstalled it. YMMV.

I only use Chrome for Google owned websites (like Gmail & Drive) because it works best for that. I never use it otherwise because it spies on everything you do.

I am just not comfortable with that.

Common sense.

This sounds like a joke, but it really is the best defense.

Not when you're browsing a completely normal site and an advert stuffs a trojan or malware on your computer without you knowing.

Computer security isn't just "Don't google "Porn" and click random links" any more.
