It’s not a bad model. All things being considered, I jumped on the cheapest 570 8gb I could find. My old strix 570 could only hit 1475/8000 vs my armor can hit 1500. Brand in my opinion for these cards means very little outside of binning purposes for stock performance. If you get chips that aren’t good overclockers, you can always return it, but I have yet to find that issue on the 570 cards. I think it’ll do fine Overclocking. My temps under load @ stock settings is 63C and when overclocked it’s 82-83C. I keep my gaming room @ 76-77F. I havent had any hiccups with my armor whatsoever over the last 90 days.

The biggest factor for me was the Overclocking potential. AMD has an Overclocking utility in their drivers that is a god-send. Fan profiles, voltage, frequencies, and all that nonsense. It’s leagues better compared to a year ago.

You’ll get 2 games for free. I initially thought it was 3 but I only got Div2 and RE:2. They perform well on my card @ 1080p.

Honestly I don't know how often I'll be overclocking. Most of my PC gaming will be less intensive titles, so I'll rarely need to. I'm also running off of a TV monitor that I think tops out at 720p. I'll upgrade that eventually but there's some other limitations that mean I'm unlikely to be maxing out the PCs performance any time soon.

For the PC games, I hope I'll get DMC and Division 2, since I already have RE2 on my PS4. Regardless, two free games is fine by me!

If it’s 720p you’ll be just fine. Hell even 1080p for these cards is no problems. Sounds like a good buy. I only mention Overclocking because you can turn that 570 into a 580 (300 less shaders) and that’s always nice cause then your card can compete with the 1060.

Overall it’s a solid buy. Remember, check out micro center before you purchase online. They really do have good deals in store and ask them about open box gpus that come with manufacturer warranty. You might be able to get something better than the 570 for the same price which only helps you at the end of the day. Everybody at the MC I shop at will spend as much time with you as needed so you can make an informed purchase.

How is that? Most things are saying $50 minimum without using a media creator tool or whatever it's called.

Ultimately this is what I've settled on.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vpJqZR

Micro Center didn't have the SSD or processor that I wanted so I made some compromises there. They also didn't have the RAM I wanted so I sacrificed there unfortunately. All in all, without Windows, a keyboard, etc., the build cost me $490 and I have a $20 rebate to kick back to me eventually. AMD isn't sending me a phone activation code for my free games but ultimately that's not the worst issue to be having haha.

Thanks for the help everyone! In particular, thank you 32x2z for all the quick responses. I'm waiting on my case (arriving in two days sadly) before putting it all together but I'm excited to get it together and test it out.

I got the same power supply as a backup!! It works well with my setup in sig. It does produce quite a bit of heat I should add. Nice pick on the 580, that’s what other users told me to jump on but the 570 was a better value.

I should note, that ryzen 1st generation utilizes ram bandwidth in order to improve performance. Be absolutely certain you can’t get better ram elsewhere (frequency speeds are important). It’s not bad ram whatsoever by the way, just a tip about the CPU/Ram interaction.

Good build man. Here’s hoping nothing comes doa.

WHOOPS I actually got the 570, just misclicked the 580 when updating my build. I definitely wanted the 580 but it priced me out of my budget unfortunately.

Yeah, RAM was a big disappointment but ultimately I do think that what I have ultimately fits my needs for the time being. RAM is really the part I'll look to upgrade first as a result but we'll see how it performs right away.

Yeah I am hoping nothing is doa, but the Microcenter return policy is fairly generous so I'll be okay.

Only a chance on the graphics card but that's the ACTUAL build.
