This one is very much swaying me:

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/41103/asus-rog-strix-xg32vq-qhd-144hz-freesync-32in-va-gaming-monitor

This is the IPS I had my eyes on though:

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32334/asus-mg279q-qhd-144hz-freesync-27in-ips-gaming-monitor

So the ASUS ROG is $50aud more, but it's 32", has a higher freesync frequency, and I do like that curved screen.

BUT, it's a VA! I was certain IPS is what I wanted, I want those colours.

Question is, do those benefits of the ASUS ROG outweight the IPS?

Need input.

I have a multiple monitors setup so if one of them isn't an IPS type, then it's gonna really stick out.

Not so much of a problem should it be your only monitor.

If you like black trails on anything that moves, VA is probably fine. I guess.

IPS is worthless with 8-bit TN panels around, I really don't know why anyone would spend the extra money to buy IPS these days.

i would avoid the mg279q. my brother has it. the low input lag mode, racing, has the sharpness setting fixed. text is sorta blurry. you can change to a different mode

For reference, my current monitor is the Asus VK266H, and it's an 8-bit TN panel, and I always thought it looked washed out.

Do you guys think 32" is too big for a monitor? I've read that 27" is ideal, especially for 1440p being viewed at typical desk distances (eye strain).

But then there's the old 'bigger is better' philosophy, and again it's only $60aud more for an extra 5".

Having trouble deciding.
