Initially it was 25% tariff on 50b worth of stuff. Now it's 10% tariff on 200b worth of stuff. I don't like Chinese made goods any more than you do, but TPP sounds much better now..

Currently..

Computers (gaming consoles including) and general parts: 10%, not finalized but on the list
Software (i.e. games): 10%, not finalized but on the list (digital excluded)
HDD: 25%
ODD (optical): 25%
RAM: Probably 25%, not finalized but on the list
Mouse: 10%, not finalized but on the list
Lithium batteries: 25%
Alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, etc): 10%, not finalized but on the list
Wall mounts of all kinds: 10%, not finalized but on the list
Routers: 10%, not finalized but on the list
Wifi related stuff such as Wi-Fi dongles: 10%, not finalized but on the list
Network media players: 10%, not finalized but on the list
Adapters: 10%, not finalized but on the list
Power supplies: 10%, not finalized but on the list
All kinds of cables including ethernet: 10%, not finalized but on the list

That's just electronics that I glanced at. The list is thousands and carry bags, furnitures, construction materials, filters, packaging materials such as cartons, etc etc are included on the list.

Yes, at the time of import. Importers pay it but gets passed down to consumers eventually. Initially they may try to absorb it at first, but margins are razor thin on most of the stuff so they will have no choice.

Why is it that he can hit a 3rd baseman on a frozen rope from 300 feet away, but he can't hit a 12 foot tall catcher from 60 feet 6 inches away?

It was long overdue, with the way the U.S. has been getting screwed, and PC gamers... people who by new parts literally with a few months, regardless if they need to truly upgrade are worried about this?

Let's not forget the hardware makers were arbitrarily inflating the prices of their GPU's and RAM citing crypto currency and mobile phones as a reason and very few said ****... but now we need to panic lol, no.
Console bug testing has been outsourced to gamers now. For $60 you too can become a game tester.

Yeah I'm feeling very ambivalent about this. On one side, I am thinking "YEAH TAKE THAT", and in another I'm thinking "Uh, I need to stock up".

I really doubt that. There are other countries that can manufacture for so much less, though higher than China. Unless of course you put tariff on those countries too. But then those countries will put tariff on our agriculture and other stuff so. It's complicated.

This will only maybe happen when people are willing to work for what factory jobs are actually worth, which they won't. Raw materials costs are also higher here. China/Asia has access to a lot of rare earth materials needed to build electronics more readily than the US as well.
It's not the fall that kills you, it's the rapid deceleration.....
