There's a demo... You don't need to buy it and then refund it...

Not all of them have a demo.

What I'm trying to say to the people who are looking at games but are unsure if they should try them or not: Don't be afraid, some of these games are fun but some of them are buggy AF.

(I've fallen through the world about a dozen times in VR dungeon knight and I've only played for a few minutes ._. lol... )

Scanner Sombre is on sale, too. No idea how the VR is but it's a cool enough game to be worth the $2.49 imo.

Its awful.
The controls are horrid.
The game didn't do well so i dont think there are going to be any fixes for it unfortunitly.

My personal recommendations for VR games would be:
The Gallery - EP1: Call of the Starseed & EP2: Heart of the Emberstone

I've only played Ep1 and haven't quite finished it, but it's pretty cool and worth checking out the bundle.

GORN: Serious fun, but you had better put padding over everything in your room that you hold dear because you WILL smash it... you will HULK SMASH it.

Space Pirate Trainer is a lot of fun, and a great "jump in and play" game when you don't have 3 hours to devote to something.

Job Simulator/Rick and Morty's Virtual Rickality (pretty much the same style of game): both are fun, but the downside is that once you finish them there's not a whole lot of replay. BUT they're both fun.

Sairento/Raw Data: both great games, Sairento has you jumping and flipping around like a ninja, Raw Data makes you feel like a Grammaton Cleric doing Gun Kata.

Dead Effect 2/Doom VFR/Serious Sam VR bundle: all great examples of FPS in VR, except now your aim is your own, not merely how fast you can move a mouse on a pad.

Talos Principle: if you haven't played the pancake version, then the VR version will wow you... even if you HAVE played the pancake version it's a new experience being IN the game.

Duck Season: 80's/90's Nostalgia... the actual game is fun too, but I was impressed with all the details they packed into that living room. Even the Ceiling Fan wobbles like a poorly installed Ceiling fan would!

Vanishing Realms: great fun, though most sword combat in VR is like trying to tickle people to death with a stick. It's still fun, but until we get some kind of force feedback, it's not going to be as real as it could be. (Gorn isn't realistic either but then again, you can literally rip a guy's head off so I don't think it's aiming for realism).

Final Approach: It's fun to fly and land the planes, but it MIGHT be a bit nausea inducing. I find that I can only play it for 30 minutes at a time before I start a cold sweat. I think it still includes the other game mode where you basically grab the plane and trace the path it needs to take to land.

QuiVR (ahh yes, let's include a prominent VR in everything). It's a great archery game where you can team up with online players to defend your base...Lots of fun, watch some video on it.

Elite Dangerous: If you haven't got it yet, what are you waiting for?

UltraWings: Great little flight sim game where you can use virtual controls (meaning you don't need a HOTAS for it) but they added HOTAS support not long ago.

... the controls are literally WASD, the mouse, and Q+E. And whatever the "Scan Pulse" button is. It doesn't have any ultra-precision platforming in it either. How are those controls "horrid"?

The game itself is nothing amazing but the concept alone is worth the entry price, especially as a VR title, I'd think. Unless the VR part of it is where the controls are terrible. In which case just play it non-VR.

That's probably the case. I've personally heard very mixed things about that game. One side is going "OOOH It's so cool!" and the other side is going "I wasn't impressed." And to be very clear for you, I am talking about the VR side of things.

I don't give a s*** about the non-VR side of this game, and judging by the topic we're in, I doubt a lot of people reading would either. This isn't "Hey, a sale, let's talk about games in general". it's "A VR Games sale, let's talk about which VR games are worth buying."

Looks like the reason for all the "buy it buy it buy it" nonsense is probably people sympathetic to the developers trying to turn a bad game into a good game.

BTW: looking at that video doesn't make me want it. It looks boring as f***.

yes i am referring to the VR controls. with the rift to move forward if i remember right you have to keep hitting the B button to move about 1 foot forward.
even for teleportation controls that sucks ass.

I haven't tried it non VR yet but i am sure the controls are just fine for that.

That video is hilarious. They keep jerking off to their own game and wondering why few people bought it.

It basically boils down to "We created a game that sold 2 million copies. I wonder why those same people didn't rush to buy a game in a completely different genre?"

Honestly, the developers are decent and when it comes to early access, they were one of the good ones. They released content rather predictably and regularly so that you could always see that they were making progress. That doesn't mean everything they touch is gold though.

It would be like if Valve made a game that was widely loved (Half-Life) and then later created a game that wasn't anything like Half-Life and looked like utter s*** (Ricochet) and then sat around going "Gee, I thought everyone would buy anything we made. 🤔 I guess not. 😟"

Instead, Valve knows Ricochet bombed and they poke fun at it all the time.

Ricochet was a free official mod for Half Life made by Valve that was released in 2000, you never could buy it.
