I never really thought about it. I always just had assumed Max Payne. But I was playing Turok and you get a power-up that pretty much sorta does that. What was the first game to do it?

whats your definition of bullet time? just slow motion time in general? not sure who did that first its been in 1000's of games.

but the first game to do the matrix style bullet time was max payne.

Conker's Bad Fur Day launched a few months prior to Max Payne and has a bullet time sequence.

I think Max Payne really was the first one that used bullet time. If you count any slow motion at all, then perhaps many of the older games you could play on a PC with a turbo button count, as you could "disable" turbo and they would run at a lower speed.

Now sure about games but the first film with bullet time wasn't The Matrix, it was a film called Kuffs.

Yeah, the way most people think of bullet time these days, Max Payne was the first.
