Do you have enough disposable money that could cover microtransactions forever? - Results (112 votes)

If you put your disposable cash every month towards micro-transactions would you be able to afford it? No set number on purchases of the boxes but let's just say "often to very often."

Of course remember this isn't a "would you" topic, it's a "can you". So don't bother getting out that unrelated dumbassery card. There's no play for it here.

I mean, it obviously depends on how much they would cost total. I can afford buying a few cheaper ones a month, but some games have macro-transactions, not micro. Like Path of Exile, a single set of armor costs 40-60 dollars

Even then, to answer your hypothetical question, if I was brain dead and wanted to, yes I could probably afford to drop 150-200 a month on loot crates.

Yeah, they're cheap AF. If I wanted to drop a grand each month on bulls*** I could. And obviously no I'm not going to.

I can afford them, yes. I usually set aside a bit of money for gaming. Sometimes I use it to buy a game (or a pack of games on sale), sometimes I buy a DLC or 2... And I even got me a new GPU last year, since I barely bought any game in 2017.

But I never buy loot boxes. I don't think I've ever played any game that has loot boxes as a "main" gaming feature. Well, maybe Warframe, but I didn't spend a single cent on that game.

Also, I kinda agree with this:

Not that I would burn money, of course, but I don't want to support microtransactions. IF we ever get to a point where most games NEED them, I'll just live the rest of my life playing (and replaying) older games. |

I could, and I pay subs for a few sub games ($15-40 a month depending on which I'm playing) that would probably be a decent amount of boxes for whatever game I might choose to play, but the thought of spending money on lootboxes/gacha makes me sick. I can't stand gambling.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there

I buy stuff I don't technically need all the time. However, the stuff I buy is stuff that I like and find entertaining. Loot boxes in a $60 game do not qualify as stuff I like nor would I find it entertaining enough to warrant the purchase.
