No idea, but currently the 1070 is like, $140 more than it should be and the 1060 6GB is also like, over $100 over it's old price.

That being said, MSRP was officially raised by nvidia due to memory shortages so I don't think they will ever truly come down to their old prices.

End of current gpu gen. It is Better to wait for new gen.

If you can get good price
GTX 1060
GTX 1070

This. The next generation of GPU's are coming but if you can find a good price on a 1060 6GB or a 1070, jump on it.

what would you consider a "good price"?

Around the original MSRP or lower. I'm in the US so that's $299.00 USD for the GTX 1060 6GB and $379.00 USD for the GTX 1070. If you're in the US and don't find those cards in range of those numbers in new condition, don't buy them until you can. If you're not in the US, look up the MSRP of those cards in your country and go from there.
Yay gaming

Last rumor I read said new cards will drop April. I should get my first bonus from my new job then. Won't be much but I'm hoping to score a 2070 with it

Wait and see which cards aren't favoured by miners for Nvidia and AMDs next product line up if you're looking for the best 'bang for your buck'.

I'm still limping along on my 4GB 670. I was really impressed with how well it was hanging on at 1080p. The main reason I want to upgrade is because I upgraded to a 3440x1440 monitor but it's actually still mostly acceptable with low settings thanks to gsync.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there

Realistically a 1060 gtx 6gb

Or

Gtx 1070 if you can find one.

The 1060 is more avalible right now. If you save up $200 more you can get a 1080 ti.

I would advise you to wait. Give it a couple of months and we should have some news about 20xx series or heck maybe this mining coin crap might slow down and prices become normal again.
