I upgrade once every 8 years or so, and when I do I usually just buy high end consumer components. I am interested in getting the latest/best Nvidia Titan model, but I don't know which version is the best (Asus, etc?), and no where seems to have it in stock.

Is that graphics card compatible with my current components?

Processor: Intel i7-3930k
Motherboard: Asus Rampage iv extreme

P.S. could you recommend me some compatible ram for my motherboard? A stick of my current ram died, and other sticks seem to be failing.

if you are upgrading to a 3k gpu and need ram, may as well upgrade your processor and mobo too.

Sounds like a whole new build then.

Just get the new graphics card first and upgrade the rest later if you aren't satisfied with the performance.

i7 3930k is still a decent CPU. Asus has a feature you can enable in BIOS that makes all cores run at the max turbo speed (3.8 ghz in this case). Assuming you got a good cooler, it's easy to overclock it further.
