For me it'd be Gaia Online. I come past it every so often and it pities me how crap it is now. It was such an addiction back in the day! Last week was my 10 year anniversary since registering on Gaia (15th of January 2008). Funnily enough, the day of my 10 year anniversary was when I started Black Desert for the first time.

Neopets from the list. I had the most fun with it, until they went all commercialized. My true answer would be IRC though. I made some good friends (that are still around) there.

CS WOW mod server before source, and the owner/admin was Meatloaf Ninja and his buddy was Wallawalla bangbang or something like that. Forgot the actual name of the server though. Wow mod had different races with different bonuses like invisibility, vampiricism, extra grenade and whatnot. I remember it was a time before Steam and you'd remember the IP of the server by heart and connect directly via console. I s***posted in their messageboards as a middleschooler. It was bad.
