Check if you're monitor is connected to the gpu or mobo. Download Afterburner/riva tuner to see what is being maxed out. If it's gpu you can lower the resolution, cpu then you're out of luck.

I do appreciate the advice given.

I know my ram is DDR3 1066, so it is quite old.

As far as 1440p though, I don't think that's the issue. I recall playing GTAV @ 4K fine. I have my PC hooked up to my TV for that, and although I rarely use it, I never had issues when I did. Perhaps GTAV is better optimized than BF1.

Again I am playing with all settings on low for BF1, so I don't see how all the ram is being used up in my scenario. I am also playing in DX11 as advised. Those reported drops are pretty staggering, but it's still happening with it disabled.

Getting Afterburner now to run a few tests.

Have you tried changing the settings to 1920 x 1080 to see if the frame rate improves?

Put gpu overclock to stock and restart pc if you are overclocked. I had this happen to me my gpu ram was to high 12.5 ghz rofl. Just a bit much.

It would run my gpu usage was at 99 to 100 but my performanxe was just cut to 30%.

Have you monitored the temps while gaming?
Is BF1 the only demanding game you've played recently to suddenly suffer from much worse performance than previously?
